SituationJacobs Well is a small village surrounded by farmland close to the River Wey and Sutton Park conveniently situated just to the north of Guildford and four miles south of Woking.

For commuters to London, access to the A3 is within 0.75 miles and there are excellent rail services from both Guildford Station (Waterloo from 35 minutes) and Worplesdon main line station (Waterloo from 30 minutes) which is about two miles. Jacobs Well CottageJacobs Well Cottage dates from the late 15th century and was originally a three bay open hall house which was extended in the early part of the 19th century and enlarged by the addition of a Sussex barn in the 1960’s. Typical of its period, it is oak framed, although the elevations are now faced in colourwashed brick with clay tile hanging to the upper part and leaded light windows under a clay tiled roof. A specialist historical report produced by the Surrey Domestic Buildings Research Group in 1989 described the old part of the house as having “huge timbers” with

carpenters’ marks suggesting a date of 1500. The exposed beams which are evident throughout the interior of the house are particularly fine and there are two open brick fireplaces and other extensive oak joinery. The ceilings are of good height and there is a magnificent drawing room which is ideal for entertaining with a lofty ceiling and a large full height window overlooking the garden. Outside, there is a substantial building including a double garage and two store rooms, ideal for conversion to guest accommodation or a home office (subject to planning).

The GroundsThere are extensive areas of lawns with well stocked
