Call to Order: The Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Jackson Public School District was called to order at 5:38 P. M. by Dr . Jeanne Hairston, Board President, on June 05, 2019. II. III. Establishment of Quorum: A quorum was established, as six (6) members were present, namely: Dr. Jeanne Hairston, Dr. Ed Sivak, Barbara Hilliard, Andrea Jones, Letitia Johnson and Dr. Robert Luckett. Frank Figgers was absent from the meeting. Adoption of Agenda : Dr. Luckett moved that the Board adopt the agenda as presented with the amendment of moving public participation to after the budget presentation; Barbara Hilliard seconded; Votes cast for the motion: Dr. Jeanne Hairston, Dr. Ed Sivak, Mrs. Barbara Hilliard, Andrea Jones, Letitia Johnson and Dr. Robert Luckett; Votes cast against the motion: none. PASSED IV. Information Items Only: a. Presentation of 2019-2020 Proposed Budget: The purpose of the budget hearing was to give the public an opportunity to participate in the budget process. Sharolyn Miller, Chief Financial Officer, outlined the priorities of the 2019-2020 district budget and answered questions posed by board members. V. Public Participation for General Comments and/or Proposed Policy Issues : a. Jane Hiligas addressed the Board regarding the amount of debt service, the need to purchase computers for teachers and her wish that the district would make the curriculum of JROTC available for all students but not add the military components. VI . Adjourn:. The meeting was adjourned by a consensus at 6:22p.m .
