EARLY LIFE

Jackson was born January 28, 1912 in the state of Wyoming.

He lived with his mother Stella and his four brothers – Charles, Jay, Sande, and Frank. His father’s name was LeRoy Pollock. He traveled the country a lot .

ADOLESCENCE

In 1926 Jackson was enrolled in Manual Arts Training School

In 1929 Jackson was expelled from Manual Arts because of bad behavior.

In 1930 Jackson moved to New York with his brother Charles. In New York he was a lumberjack and a cleaner, but he wanted to be a painter.

MARRIAGE

In 1945 Jackson got married to an artist named Lee Kranser.

Together they lived in a farmhouse outside of New York.

Jackson lived a much happier life with Lee. They made a painting together called “The Key”

This is my favorite painting he’s done. It’s called Autumn Rhythm. It was made October 1950

LIKES

I like how he mixes the colors so they are one beautiful painting.

I like how he makes those spectacular swirls.

I like how he adds texture to his paintings.

DEATH

Sadly he died August 11,1956 from driving into a tree.
