Dan has conducted projects in the electricity industry including the transmission, distribution and retail parts of the electricity value chain. He led the Core Process Review of AGL’s resource planning and scheduling program for the Melbourne electricity distribution network. He designed the knowledge capture system for the operation of the contestable and non-contestable retail market call centre in Powercor. Dan reviewed customer connection processes for AGL’s distribution network.

Dan led the team that rationalised the (Melbourne) smart meter rollout management system for Jemena. He also led an energy innovation improvement project in SP-

AusNet.

Dan’s company provided the project coordination role for the implementation of a

multi-commodity gas and electricity SCADA system in AGL/Alinta/Jemena.

Leadership skills A highly effective team builder with the ability to build teams to deliver projects on time and cost to specification. Has managed teams in defence, electricity, water and

health sectors.

Senior mentor to staff in commissioning organisation in the resources sector.

In a previous life …

Dan served in Operation DAMASK as Supply Officer HMAS ADELAIDE providing logistics and maritime support as part of Australia’s commitment in the lead up to the

first Gulf War. He has significant logistics experience at both the operational and strategic levels. While on exchange with the US Defense Logistics Agency, Dan led the technical review of all defence procurement, warehousing, storage and distribution functions west of the Mississippi River. He has led the systematic and radical improvement of logistics processes particularly at Australia’s largest military logistics facility in Sydney and has led logistics and procurement operations in a number of defence units. Dan retired at the rank of Commander after a 21-year career.
