  • 1. JCCHS had 66 honor graduates.

2. There were three finalists for GHP: Katie Fife Agriscience Bailye Hendley Music Jesse Phillips - Design 3. The total number of students taking AP courses went up from 96 in 2013 to 179 in 2014. 4. The total number of AP exams administered rose from 122 in 2013 to 244 in 2014. 5. 44 more students received a 3 or higher on an AP exam, meaning they will likely receive college credit for their work. 6. The number of AP Calculus test takers doubled in 2014; the mean score also rose from 2.5 to 2.63. FOUR students scored a 5. 7. The first student in our school took AP Calculus BC. He scored a 4. 8. The mean score for AP Microeconomics rose from 2.67 in 2013 to 3.63 in 2014. 9. 7 out of 9 students who took the AP Statistics exam scored a 4 or higher; 3 out of 9 scored a 5. 10. Nearly twice as many students took the AP World History exam. The mean score rose from 3.6 in 2013 to 4.0 in 2014. 11. Tristan Gaskins made a perfect score on the GHSWT. 12. We increased the percent exceeds in the following EOCTs: American Literature, Biology, and Economics 13. The following students received awards in Georgia Young Authors: Sara Dowd, Caleb Moore, and Matthew Martin 14. The Electric Vehicle Club won 1st place in the Southeast White Flag Invitational in Birmingham, AL. 15. Jose Regaldo secured a 2nd place finish at the SkillsUSA State Competition in Cabinetmaking. 16. The following students received their state FFA degree: Shawn Strickland, Katie Fife, Allie Duck, and Carly Marchese 17. Katie Fife of JCCHS FFA was selected to serve as Area II Officer in the North Georgia Region. 18. Ian McGaughey was selected as a Washington Youth Tour delegate in Washington, DC. 19. Craig Douglas was honored as a Grand Prize Winner for his video The Cold Truth in the Reel Change GA Video Competition. 20. Tizzi Marroquin competed in the Career Investigations STAR event for FCCLA. She won a silver medal. 21. Sommer Stockton and Preston Giroux traveled with People to People as a student ambassador in several other countries. 22. The following JCCHS students received awards in the Celebrate the Arts Festival in Jackson County: Rachel Xu, Ash Edwards, Abigail Hawkins, Megan Horning, Hayley Nix, Jessica Parker, Rebeca Perez, Angela Mandzyuk, and Gianna Li 23. The JCCHS Literary Team students received the awards: Cody Braselton, Austin Duke, Kaden James, McKenna Brandenburg, Zach Grizzle, Matt Martin, and Michael Quinton 24. Ashley Konarski, JCCHS DECA President, received the Statesman Award at the Fall Leadership Development Conference. 25. Three JROTC students received national awards: Seth Hendrickson, Daniel Garmon, and Seth Bullock 26. Nine JCCHS students received the Georgia Business Ethics Student Training certification: Anthony Allen, Christopher Bingham, Margaret Britt, Skylar Carter, Patrick Kral, Brendan McClellan, Eric Ramey, Timberlie Smith, and Grace Whitaker 27. Wrestling Finished 3rd at Area duals only behind the eventual state champion and state runner- up. We also had one individual state placer, Chuck Allen, who placed 4th at 170 lbs. in AAA. 29. Cross Country For the 6th consecutive year the girls team competed at the GHSA state meet and finished 9th in AAA, its 3rd top ten finish in the last 4 years. 30. Softball We were 8AAA Region Runner Up and made it to the Sweet Sixteen. 31. Girls Golf Girls Golf finished 7th in the state and as Region runner. 32. Boys Golf Boys Golf finished 8th in the state. 33. Baseball The Panther Baseball Program made the State Playoffs for the second year in a row in 2014. 34. Boys Soccer The Panther varsity soccer team finished in a 3 way tie for first place in the region and represented the region in the state playoff as the 3rd seed, which was determined by a tie-breaker. 35. Cheerleading The CoEd Competitive team qualified for state again for the 3rd year in a row and finished 12th in the state. 36. Football After making it to the playoffs during the 2012 season, the Jackson County football team returned to the playoffs again in 2013. This was the first time in school history that the football team made back-to-back state playoff appearances. Six of our players were selected to play in the inaugural FCA-All Area All-Star game. Our team had the first team All-Area QB in Jacob Lewis. We also had the area's Wide Receiver of the Year in Xavier Harper. 37. Tennis The boys went on to place in the top 4 in our region and competed at state for the first time in school history. 38. JCCHS Lofty Inside Outside Hey! We're Back in the Box Players placed 3rd in 8-AAA Region One Act Play competition. Kenzie Duncan selected as Region Best Supporting Actress. Zach Bloomquist selected All Star Cast. 39. Tristan Mitchell selected for AMDA American Musical Drama Association New York Summer Workshop. 40. Dakota Stockton selected for the Virtual Youth Choir directed by Eric Whitacre and presented at the Glasgow 2014 Youth Games. 41. Rachel Daglis awarded scholarship to University of Missouri Department of Theatre. 42. Morgan Shawa awarded scholarship to the Theatre Department of Piedmont College, GA. 43. JCCHS Lofty Inside Outside Hey! We're Back in the Box Players presented 8 productions, a total of 27 performances reaching an audience of 2100.
