Jackson County Boys Play In Cooperstown World Series The Tennessee Elite team, made up of 12 year olds from Jackson, White and Putnam counties, par- ticipated in the World Series at Cooperstown All Star Village in Cooperstown, New York on July 7 through July 13. The team finished in a respectable 12th place out of 23 teams. Connor Brown led the Elite team in hitting with 10 hits in 20 at bats for an average of .500. George Akers was second on the team in hitting with six hits in 13 times at bat for an average of .462 and Kendall Scantland had six hits in 19 trips to the plate for a .316 batting average. Brown had two home runs and Scantland added one of his own. All three players are members of the JCMS baseball team and are looking forward to the upcoming season. Upper Cumberland Reagan Day Dinner - The Upper Cumberland Reagan Day Dinner was held July 14 at the Overton County Fairgrounds. Keynote speaker was Senator Bob Corker along with Congressman Diane Black, Con- gressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik, State Representative Kelly Keisling and 41st District State House Candidate Bobby Stewart. Jackson County Boys Play In Cooperstown World Series

The Tennessee Elite team, made up of 12 year olds from Jackson, White and Putnam counties, par-ticipated in the World Series at Cooperstown All Star Village in Cooperstown, New York on July 7 through July 13. The team finished
