Lamb & Goat Validation
It’s time to order ear tags for the 2016-17 Texas 4-H/FFA Lamb, Goat, Breeding Goat & Breeding Sheep Validation Programs. The deadline for ordering tags will be August 26, 2016. Tag orders MUST be postmarked by August 26, 2016. Order forms have been sent to County Agents only. Tags will cost $10 each for market lambs, market goats, wether dams and wether does. Validation for breeding sheep and breeding goats is $7.50 per head. You do not order ear tags for breeding sheep and breeding goats, but use their original flock tag. After the August 26, 2016 deadline, late tags may be ordered if needed at a cost of $20 per tag for lambs, goats, wether dams and wether does and late entries for breeding sheep and breeding does will be $15.00 per head. If you have any questions, please call the office at 361-782-3312.
YOUTH MARKET BROILER AND TURKEY DIVISIONS RULES AND ORDERING PROCEDURES 2017 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, and Rodeo Austin Only birds purchased through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Poultry Science office are eligible to compete in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR), San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo (SASSR) and Rodeo Austin (RA) youth market poultry shows.
The price of turkey poults is $3.50 per bird ($87.50 per 25 poults).
The price of broiler chicks is $1.25 per bird ($31.25 per 25 chicks).
ORDER DEADLINES Turkeys: Orders must be postmarked by September 2, 2016. Broilers: Orders must be postmarked by October 15, 2016.
Broiler order forms will be added on September 1, 2016.
