Situated in a quiet residential area, The Dharmawangsa is designed to resemble an Indonesian mansion. The architecture centres on the concept of linking a series of spaces — the front veranda, central hall and back veranda; accented by pools of water and a magnificent collection of artworks and antiques from the archipelago.Although it comes with modern amenities, The Dharmawangsa’s Presidential Suite gives a peek into Indonesia’s past through its design and furnishings. Cues are taken from 18th and 19th century Indonesian houses — gilded carvings, wall recess with candle holders and glass paintings of shadow puppet characters related to the Indonesian Lord Bima. Dutch influences are seen in a 17th century cabinet, octagonal bathrooms and four-poster bed. The suite has a master bedroom and guest bedroom.
