Obituary Jack E. Mehl, age 84, of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away January 17, 2017 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Jack was born on June 19, 1932 in Parkersburg, WV to J. Norman and Grace L. (Jemison) Mehl. He moved to Citrus County 13 years ago from Hernando County. Jack was a retired FBI Agent and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Jack attended the University of WV where he played Basketball. He graduated Ohio University where he played Baseball. Jack played in the Minor League for the Cincinnati Reds, he was called to the Majors but due to injuries sustained in a car accident, his baseball career was ended. Jack’s memberships include the Society for the Former Agents of the FBI and he was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Crystal River, FL. Survived by his wife, Genevieve Mehl; one brother, Robert L and his wife Shirley Mehl; brother-in-law, James and his wife Dianne Mears; two nephews, Rodney and his Evelyn Mehl and Jay and his wife Joelle Mehl; one niece, Vicki and her husband Ronald Certain. Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL. Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Crystal River, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Former Agents of the FBI Foundation, 3717 Fettler Park Drive, Dumfries, VA 22025.
