welcome A big South School welcome to Alister & Alex Kim who have joined us this week. From the Principal: Timaru Campus Breakfast The Timaru Campus breakfast next week will be held on Wednesday 11th March and not Thursday as usual. This is to accommodate the Student Council Leadership day. The breakfast will return to its normal Thursday slot the following week. Hadlow to Harbour We have 45 students and 7 adults walking on Sunday, which is pleasing to see. This is a good opportunity for students to fundraise for their camps and trips this year. One young man has raised enough to cover his camp and ski-skate trip. Resourceful!

The 10km event starts at Hadlow at 9.30am and the 3km event starts at Church Street Countdown at 9.45am. Buses to Hadlow from Caroline Bay skatepark (northern car park). More information on http://www.h2h.org.nz/

3-Way Interviews Interview forms need to be returned by Monday 9th March. Confirmed times will be sent home with students early next week. Late returns may end up with less favourable times. Theatre Royal Timaru 124 Stafford St Timaru

Nathan Mikaere-Wallis is a university lecturer in human development and part of the Brain Wave Trust and X Factor Education. He has built a nationwide reputation as a lively, humorous and engaging speaker on brain development. As well as teaching neuroscience, Nathan is a father, step father and foster parent, giving him the insight to apply this knowledge to everyday life.

The teenage years can be some of the most rewarding and memorable times but also some of the hardest parenting we ever do! Brain scans have given us insight into why this is and explains the radical changes the brain goes through in the teenage years. New research

shows how external factors such as alcohol and drugs affects this developing brain.

Nathan gives a straight forward and easy to follow explanation, with practical, grounded advice on

how to navigate our way through the often turbulent, teenage years. Ticket Information:
