BIDDING ADIEU

ABPS Jafrabad stood witness to the sentimental farewell function given

to beloved Principal, mentor and guide Mr.Kiran Tiwari. As a new initiative the school students headed by the

members of the school cabinet, organised a special assembly to express their sincere gratitude. The

contribution of Shri.K.C.Tiwari as a leader of this institution will always be cherished for years to come by the

staff and the student community.

The school records the significant contribution of Mrs.Khemkar for her long

association with this institution. As the students and staff bid her adieu there were

reminiscences of almost two and a half decades. The school records and values

her contribution and salutes the spirit of service.

Following the group culture of a continuous quest of excellence and growth, the baton of ABPS was

gracefully passed on to the successor Mrs.Nita Menon from the ex Principal Mr.Kiran Tewari on 16th October

2014.The newly inducted Principal is an alumni of the The Aditya Birla Group School, with masters in Business

Management, with a history of career progression through the The Aditya Birla Group since 1991 experience. I

take this moment to thank the Almighty above, our CEO Dr.Shyamlal Ganguli for, giving me the maiden

responsibility of being a school Principal.

In the hands of a gifted teacher the school becomes a happy place to learn. Our school team got enriched with

Mr.Ratnesh MA B Ed Sanskrit as a Trained graduate faculty and Ms.Sirajun, an Alumni as a Pre Primary

faculty. The school Management, Staff and Students extends a hearty welcome to the new arrivals

Science Department: Three students participated in State Level Quiz Competition organized by ZIL

Foundation in AMA at Ahmedabad

Eco Club: Aquarium for inculcating conservation of aquatic life among children, School received

RS.2500/- from Govt. of Gujarat

Exam Dept: Introduced subjective question paper pattern substituting the MCQ pattern .English Paper II

introduced.

Sports Department:

New Initiative: Extended games: Basket ball practice for 6 weeks from 17th Nov to 31st Dec 2014 for

senior and junior teams. Yoga for health-Coaching extended to boys from 2nd Jan to 30th Jan 2015, 20

students selected for Physical display on Republic day.

Students with behavioral issues were called for extended games for 6 weeks and were inducted into the

school discipline committee. There was a marked change in the overall behavior of these students

when they were assigned responsibilities on special days/ functions

New initiative: Birla Premier League Tournament-Coaching given to 6 teams and 11 students were

selected Matches were conducted from 23.12.14 to 26.12.14..Trophies were awarded to senior and

junior team champions

Volley ball coaching to senior grade students between 1.2.15 to 27.2.15

ENGLISH DEPT.: In house resource pool was extended to a team of faculty members who were

identified with training needs, through a crash course and communication skill and phonetics in phase I.

The workshop culminated with evaluation with a commitment to take the training in Phase II in 2015-16

REFRESHER AND TRAINING PROGRAM

CELEBRATIONS AND FESTIVALS

Children's Day:

Children’s Day celebrations were held on the eve of 14th November’14. The faculty

entertained the children with a variety of cultural programmes. The event brought forth

smiles on the young faces. The variety entertainment put forth by the staff provided a

delightful feast to the students as they rejoiced at the sight of their teachers’ performance

Christmas celebration: As a new initiative the Students of primary section

putting up a live CHRISTMAS CRIB

Welcome 2015: New initiative the school celebrated New Year 2015 with Goal setting

for each class, staff versus student indoor outdoor games/cultural activity. Student of

Sr.Secondary were awarded with Ms And Master ABPS. Faculty members also participated

in well dressed competition and were awarded Shining Pearl of ABPS and Rock Star of ABPS

Annual Day: The Annual day with a theme of cultural bonanza was appreciated by the guests

and the invitees .As a new initiative the pre primary students delivered the welcome address

and the vote of thanks. Unit head Shri.Sunjoy Podaar felicitating the BEST HOUSE.

66th Republic Day Celebration: The 66th Republic Day celebration was marked with a colorful extravaganza of

band set display, patriotic display and skit on social issues. The celebration was graced by Unit Head and

President of ABPS school managing committee Mr. Sunjoy Podaar, Managing trustees, President ladies club Mrs.

Poonam Podaar, Functional & Head of the departments of UTCL NCJW and Parents. Tiny tots of our Pre-

Primary Section mesmerized audience with their speeches. As a new initiative the school class XII Science

topper2014, Mr. Nishanat Pandya delivered a motivational speech.

PAYING TRIBUTE ON MARTYRS DAY:

A drawing competition was organized at school level, by Govt. of Gujarat

for Primary and secondary section under the theme “Gandhi aur swachchata”.

The Gujarat Education department awarded cash prize to winners. The

programme culminated with silent prayer and a movie on Mahatma Gandhi Major School Activities –

Tribute to SirC V Raman-Science Day:

Under the theme “Scientific tempo-science in everyday life” Science exhibits were put up by students of

Pre-Primary , Primary and secondary. Children participated enthusiastically. The day culminated with a

PPT Presentation on Science and Myth .Budding Scientists of Pre primary presented models on science

day. The programme began with a small talk on the life history of Sir C.V.Raman and his discovery. The

look-alikes of Galileo, Alexander Fleming, Marie Curie, Thomas Alva Edison, Charles Darwin, Wright

Brothers and Graham Bell briefed the gathering about their discoveries

New Initiative: Special Assembly to groom leadership, communication & team building skills by Pre

Primary Class under the theme ”Our Environment” to generate awareness and interest amongst students,

LIBRARY:

A library council is set up consisting of student representatives and faculty members to enable each

student to provide inputs on having books from various field/subjects/writers. Books worth

SOCIAL OUTREACH PROGRAM Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with a typical vehemence. A charity fund was raised on the occasion and was

given away to a Senior Citizen Smt. Taraben Joshi and Smt. Kantaben Goswami of Jafarabad
