When I first thought about starting this company I had a vision. My vision was that one day everyone would be a content creator. That was back in 2005 and a lot has changed. YouTube. Twitter. Facebook. iPhone. iPad. Our world has been transformed radically in a very short period of time. From students to grandparents, billions of people are finding their voice via the Internet. The vision is becoming a reality faster than I had ever imagined.

You are now part of a very special family. We are the pioneers fueling the democratization of information, entertainment, marketing and commerce. Our platforms fund the American dream for the next generation of artists, poets, film makers, photographers, thought leaders, comics, actors and musicians. Our corporate culture is anything but corporate. There are no offices.

No dress code (just don’t come to work naked). No traditional

corporate hierarchy. We work and interact with each other more like a

family than a company. You can speak your mind to the CEO just like

you would speak your mind with your brother or sister. We are a flat,

open, fast moving and free-spirited organization.

Your “real” family is part of the IZEA

family too! We do our best to take care

of not only our team members, but

their spouses, children and chihuahuas.

I’ve worked at places where people would

completely ignore you if you said hello.  It

makes a big difference that we feel like we are

all in this together, and at the end of the day,

we can all have a beer together, even if we need

Each new team member that joins the company is assigned a Buddy. Your Buddy is responsible for showing you the ropes and is here as a resource when you have any questions. Your Buddy will meet with you once every two weeks during your first 90 days.

Once you are here for at least one year you can volunteer to be part of the Buddy mentor program.

We encourage ongoing education of our team members and provide resources for you to keep up to date with the latest trends and best practices. Each team member has a $250 budget for ongoing education that can be used to attend events, buy books and take classes designed to further your education. You don’t need any pre-approval for this. Want to go to a fancy conference or other event? Special grants for additional education may also be available. Ask your team leader about securing a bigger continuing education grant.

You can expect to earn Achievements when we hit sales goals, launch new products and reach other company milestones. There is a list of standard achievements that all team members are eligible for. The IZEAUp is a weekly meeting of the entire company. The meeting happens every Tuesday from 11:00-11:30am EST sharp, unless the office happens to be closed. All team members are expected to participate in the meeting, regardless of their physical location. A call in number is provided for those that are off-site. If you aren’t going to make the meeting please let your manager know in advance.

The leaders of each department deliver a brief update to the entire team, limited to 5 minutes each. The goal of the update is to provide communication to all team members and keep them informed of company happenings.

IZEA’s standard business operating schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Flextime schedules may start between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., and end between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
