Help us take ACTION!

The data you provide will be used by The Ivy Partnership for the purposes of keeping you informed about its work and will not be shared beyond this

group without your express permission.

Over 200 people attended the

Listening Event on Saturday 11th

April and we received 78 comments

and ideas to improve the area!

We have grouped all the feedback

together inside so you can see the

main priorities for The Ivy.

Ivy Partnership members have already

met to consider what immediate

action can be taken and what needs

more long-term work. Our partners

have responded to some of the issues

you have raised and you can see what

is being done on page three.

We will be creating a number of

action groups to look in more detail at

the bigger problems identified.

We will need input from residents who

are most affected by the issues to

understand what is really going on

and what the best solution could be.

It’s official: The Ivy is a great place to live!

The Ivy Partnership

What did we learn?

Our main priorities—based on your feedback

1. Improve and enhance opportunities for outdoor play including the play

park and field

2. Deal with vehicles speeding along Charter Road

3. Improve communication with all residents about Sovereign estate

improvement project

4. Non-residents using parts of the estate to park in during the day

5. Royal Close residents have no-where to hang out washing

6. Damp issues in some flats on Royal Close

7. Lack of information about housing choices locally

8. The Ivy is a great place to live—we can make it even better!

9. Support for the Ivy Hub—many ideas for how it can be used

10. We need to report issues straight away before they become problems

11. Drug use in the area needs to be tackled

12. Area needs better recycling facilities including for flats (indoors)

13. Fly-tipping is a problem across the neighbourhood

14. Dog fouling in streets and in the field/ dog waste bins full

15. Dogs being allowed off their leads

16. Lack of seating in the green spaces

17. Need better maintenance of footpaths and drainage ditches

18. The Wildlife Garden is a real positive for the area!

19. Reduce drinking in the street/ public areas

20. Support for conversion from wheelie bins to communal bins

3

Of course—not everything can be

fixed overnight so the Ivy

Partnership is creating a number

of action groups to tackle some of

the bigger problems. We do need

more residents who are affected to

get involved with these otherwise

we may not fully understand the

issue. You’re the local expert!

If you would like to join any of the action groups shown on the back page

please complete the reply slip overleaf and pop it into the Community

Feedback box at 21 Royal Close. Thank you!

Lots done

Lots to do

We’re pleased to report that since the event, some action has already

been taken by our local service providers. These are:

1. Dog warden has agreed to visit area and talk with dog walkers

2. Wiltshire Council will attend to get the dog-waste bins emptied

3. Sovereign will be installing new washing lines at Royal Close and

inspecting properties affected by damp

4. Police made aware of drugs issues and will increase patrols

5. Communal bins idea included in Sovereign Estate Improvement project

6. Wiltshire Fire will be working with us to offer Home Fire Safety visits

7. Wiltshire Police, GreenSquare and Sovereign are working together to

develop regular local surgeries (dates to follow in Ivy News)
