SUPERTACK APPLICATOR Well balanced anatomic handle with titanium nitride coating with special grooves for maximum grip and easy to clean. Removable stainless steel tip of the highest quality and strength.

The tip clicks on the head and holds the tack firmly during placement. Easy detachment simply bending away the applicator.

During the R&D period of this revolutionary new tack, our goal was to create a bone tack for membrane fixation which was easy to place in all types of bone, holding tightly in place the membranes currently used in GBR (both resorbable and non-resorbable) and, last but not least, easy to take out after the regeneration period through easy identification and mechanical removal.

Starting from the usual diameter of the head, the conical shaft design including the retentive winger and the special calibrated tip did the job! The Supertack can be used even in the dense bone of the mandible without the danger of bending and distorting it.

The top side, (1) has a diameter compatible with most of all other systems, easily grabbedwith the tip of the applicator. The particular beveled edge (2) offers an easy removal action while the underside (3) facing the bone surface is flat for a stable uniform pressure on the membrane.

The conical shank tapers from the head starting with a diameter (4) substantially greater than that of other systems. This feature, along with the radius of the connection (5), significantly reduces the danger of bending and fracture.

The conical shape, which also favours an easy removal, requires a retentive collar or winger (6), using the natural elasticity of the bone, to lock the tack in place. The calibrated tip (7), sufficiently sharp enough for the penetration in cortical bone, widens at an angle close to 90° critical for obtaining high flexural strength. Careful engineering these features (4-7) into the 3mm long shank design MCBio obtained the Supertack able to penetrate even dense cortical bone, previously considered impossible.

The cobalt blue colour is obtained through an anodisation process of the titanium allo. Decontamination, Plasma Cleaing, Packaging and Sterilisation follow the highest possible standards. The SuperTacks can be placed from the sterile blister in the round organiser which, together with an elegant hammer and tack insertion tool, complete the surgical kit. •
