TAZ Gets High Grades from Students in Post Falls, Idaho Schools

Students from Seltice and Mullan Trail Ele-mentary Schools in Post Falls, Idaho en-joyed Tennis After-school Zone (TAZ) this spring. Many stu-dents purchased a racquet to continue playing with their fami-lies this summer and were looking forward to their next session of TAZ this fall. A special thank you to Site Director Breland Tommerup (2nd adult on left) and instructors Voni Tombari (1st on left), Cheryl Lepper (2nd on right) and Debbie Hernandez (far right) who led the TAZ fun for the 18 children who participated. These TAZ leaders helped kids go from never picking up a tennis racquet to playing ten-nis with their friends in the final session Play Day. And with school starting next month, it’s the perfect time for parents to contact your school PTA lead-ers to get a TAZ program started this fall or winter. Tennis is a great sport for kids to learn while hav-ing fun and being active. The USTA/PNW also needs more outstanding instructors to join the fun as we expand our TAZ pro-grams in 2013-14.
