IT Farm is able to host and manage 99% of all Windows applications used by SME’s and we’re one of the only providers to be able to

How do you access IT Farm?

Staff working remotely can connect using an existing broadband connection, 3G dongle or public Wi-Fi area. IT Farm users need to

download the free Citrix client (once per PC) before logging on for the first time. IT Farm provides an email only portal where users

can check emails without downloading the Citrix client, this feature is used on public PC’s (Internet Cafes etc.) which may block the

downloading of the Citrix client.

Do you work with third parties?

IT Farm does not sub-contract any of the application hosting, data storage and remote IT support services. Clients purchasing an IT

Farm dedicated server for third party application hosting can purchase an IT Farm account at a reduced cost for 3rd party support

purposes. IT Farm will liaise with vendors of the applications and manage calls to resolution.

Is my data secure?

No one takes more care of your files and email data than IT Farm. We have two data centres acting as backup to each other and we

24/7 system monitoring and Intruder detection;

physical security systems in place with security guards, 24 hour patrols, CCTV:

unmarked data centre buildings in order not to draw attention.;

How do you backup my documents & emails?

IT Farm operates a 5 weekly tape cycle. At the end of each week tapes are cycled and stored in an offsite fireproof safe, at the end of

each month the month end tape (full backup) is removed and retained indefinitely. In addition to tape backup snapshots to disk are

taken every night and cycled in a five-day rotation. Snapshots allow technicians to quickly recover data without resorting to tape

restoration.

Is there a charge for restoring data?

No, we can recover any end of the day data within the last month and any end of the month data. For recovery from tape backup

our RPO is 0 to 24 hours depending on the time of event, RTO is < 4 hours. Recovery from snapshots has a RTO < 1 hour.

What happens if an IT Farm data centre fails?

IT Farm has its own Disaster Recovery (DR) solution in place. Our two Data Centres are set-up to act as back up to each other. They

mirror information in real-time, so even if there’s a failure with the primary data centre, the system would run normally on the

secondary centre, whilst the technicians solve the issue.

How can I ensure confidentiality?

IT Farm understands the compliance issues faced by companies. With the security measures, backup procedures and disaster

recovery in place, IT Farm helps you to provide adequate provision to cover the 7th Principle in Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act

1998 and are registered with the Information Commissioner (registration number: Z2190200).

Internet. Our infrastructure is based on Microsoft’s Hosted Messaging and Collaboration Framework, guaranteeing secure, fast and reliable access.

Every single component within our infrastructure is duplicated, from dual-redundant power supplies, network cards and memory mirroring to full-server duplication using hardware and software

clustering technologies. But we don’t stop there.

Our entire infrastructure is duplicated in a second data centre with hourly off-site data shipping replication. This means that even in the highly unlikely event of a disaster where the data centre is

unavailable, you can continue working as if nothing had happened.

Our Internet feeds are all provided by independent carriers using diverse routing. We of course utilise Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and other classified diversionary tactics to stop

unauthorised attacks.
