A Note from the TreasurerDear Devotees and Friends,On behalf of the Executive Committee, I am pleased to share with you the Income Statement for the period starting from January 1, 2019 through September 30, 2019. During the 3 rd quarter (last three months), we noticed that that there was a signifi cant increase across all three components of CORE donation, which consists of PriestServices, Hundi Collection and General Donations. This means that the devotees and community members have donated quite generously during the third quarter. In addition, it should be noted that the rental income has substantially increased this year. After three quarters of 2019, our surplus is approximately $49,000 before interest income. The surplus will help us in pro-viding the various services and upkeep of the temple. We encourage you to visit our temple frequently, participate in all our activities and programs, and help us by volunteer-ing. The month of October signifi es the beginning of our festival season. HCS has planned several religious programs and celebrations. Please join us with your family and friends and get spiritually fulfi lled at the temple. We are extremely grateful to our community members for your contributions. Please continue to give us your support, by not only opening up your wallets but also by opening your hearts.Warm Wishes,Dinesh ParekhTreasurer

The 2019 Hindu Cultural Center Summer Camp

The 2019 Hindu Cultural Center Summer Camp

The HCS Summer Youth Camp was held from August 26-30, 2019 from 8:30-5:30, with 25 students and 11 camp

counselors who participated. The kids participated in many fun-filled activities such as various indoor and outdoor

sports, Pooja and Bhajan practice, reciting shlokas, arts and crafts, a magic workshop and even the Aquarium of Niagara Touch Tank activities! Whew, what a fun packed week that

just flew by! I want to thank all the children, camp counselors, and parents for engaging in the summer youth

camp this year. It was so great to see the children developing friendships and bonding with each other. Can’t

    wait for next year!

    All the best, Shailaja Kokil

Dear HCS community, We have had great success with the rental income this year. Year to date, we have already tripled our rental income as compared to the entire revenue for year 2018. As you noticed, the rental charges were increased. It was unavoidable due to the ever increasing maintenance cost of the Temple. These funds have been used to hire professional cleaners, create signs for the convenience of the devotees in the parking lot, buy utility carts for the kitchen, add new and improved sound system for the stage and much more. There are a lot more improvements to come. I am hoping for an excellent outcome the rest of this year. This could not have been accomplished without the limitless and generous support from the devotees. As always, we would greatly appreciate any donations or volunteer efforts to help with these renovations. Please give us suggestions as to what changes you would like to see here at the temple, or let us know if you like some changes that you already can notice. We will try to address each of the suggestions on a priority basis. We appreciate your feedback. Thank you, Rakesh (Ricky) Verma Secretary of rental facilities [email protected] 716-870-6213
