PE Kits - IMPORTANT
It has come to our attention that quite a few pupils have not been coming to school with PE kit
for their lessons. The children must have a change of indoor or outdoor shoes that are
appropriate for PE lessons. It is not hygienic to have no change of kit and it is written into our
school charter that ‘Children are organised and prepared for work including their PE kit ‘. From now on no PE kit will result in children losing 3 points for their house. So the motto is be
prepared for your sports!

Netball Club
Kellands Netball Club were out in action in their first active schools tournament of the season in
Huntly on Monday 14th March. They have been working hard in training and this is really showing
in games. There was great support and play up the court with superb interceptions leading to
some great wins.
Keep up the great work!

Any pupils keen to learn or improve are welcome to attend the open session for local schools
that takes place between 6.15 and 7.30 pm every Wednesday in the dining hall at Kemnay
Primary School. No need to pre-register, just turn up! This is run by Martin Kelly and Gerald
Lobley. We are looking to set up a club at Kellands in the future.
On Thursday the children from P1/2O
and the LGU celebrated St Patrick’s
Day. The children learned about the
story of St Patrick. They tried some
traditional Irish dancing which they said
was very tiring! They made some Irish
food, colcannon, which was made with
mashed tatties, spring onions and
gammon all mixed together, lots of the
children thought this was yummy! We
had a special visitor Larry the
Leprechaun who had left us some clues
to solve, the clues made a map which led
us to his golden coins!! The children also
decorated some cupcakes to take home!
A busy but fun filled day!
Thank you to the children for helping
Miss Owens and Miss Harrigan celebrate
St Patrick’s Day!
PHOTO BOOK AVAILABLE FOR ORDER
We are grateful to Mrs Brand for putting in many hours to produce a photobook of the week.
It looks fantastic, capturing the atmosphere of the trip.
Books are available in paperback (£9.99) or hardback (£22.50).
A hardback version will be available for preview at Kellands Market on 24th March. A sample
of a paperback from a previous year will also be available to give an example of the quality.
Orders will be taken at the stall on Market day.
Orders will be secured with upfront payment only.
If you cannot make Kellands Market but want to order a book please ask your child’s teacher
for an order form. Thank you.
P6 Ski Trip - 22-26 March 2016 - Glenshee
We had the most amazing week.
Blue skies and fresh snow. We
couldn’t have asked for better
conditions.
Back at the lodge, behaviour was
fantastic, attitudes positive and
rooms tidy (mostly!). Staff at
Gulabin Lodge were blown away by
the good manners and impeccable
behaviour.
Staff on the trip agreed that each child did the school, their family and themselves proud. The
sense of camaraderie was brilliant. They were a real pleasure to hang out with. Well done to
everyone who participated. Both on and off the slopes, you achieved so much.
Rate of progress was amazing,
seeing all pupils up on the chairlift
and skiing down bigger slopes by
the Wednesday.
