Issue: January - June 2020 Dear Patrons, This time let me begin with a hope that all of you are in good health and managed to stay protected from the outbreak of Covid-19. We know that life and business have seen a sea-change during this pandemic and it will be a long time to restore complete normalcy again. However, we are happy that with the unlock phases on, things are improving and the Indian industries have resumed the activities again. Friends, this time we are presenting you a merged version of our news bulletin entwining the two quarters i.e. Jan.-Mar. and Apr.-Jun. issues of 2020. We are happy to inform that we at NITRA could manage to resume some of our emergency testing services in a restricted manner even during the initial lockdown phase with special permission from the authority. Subsequently the normal office activities also started in early May. The most significant happening in this reported period is the establishment of a sophisticated Microbiology Laboratory at NITRA. It is the seventh operational lab in NITRA and functioning well from the very beginning. In another important development, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has approved NITRA's facilities for conducting testing and certification of Synthetic Blood Penetration Test for Body Coveralls for COVID 19. Since these testing activities in full swing, we at NITRA are having a sense of pride to have contributed to the nation's fight against Covid -19. In this context, it is also worth mentioning that NITRA's Inspection Services are also accredited against ISO/IEC 17020:2012 by NABCB for textiles and apparel during this period. During this period, NITRA conducted two summer training programs, Apparel Manufacturing & Merchandising (AMM) and Textile Manufacturing Technology (TMT) fully on interactive on-line mode with regular classes. The three DLP programs are also conducted through online to benefit our students. Similarly, NITRA's academic wing NITRA Technical Campus (NTC) also catered to its B. Tech students regularly during this entire period. The faculty members continually have shared notes, videos, ppt-slides and took lectures using various online apps. NITRA also organized a series of training programs and workshops during this period that include workshop on Energy Efficiency and Conservation Opportunities, training program on Awareness on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 & Internal Auditing, and workshop with TSC (Textile Sector Skill Council), New Delhi on rationalization/validation of QPs related to weaving and knitting sub-sectors. In addition to that, many Training of Trainers (ToT) and Training of Assessors (TOA) programs are also conducted in NITRA campus. So, as a whole it's been a matter of great satisfaction that even in this difficult time, NITRA could manage to offer good services to its esteemed clients. Dear Patrons,

This time let me begin with a hope that all of you are in good health and managed to stay protected from the outbreak of Covid-19.
