NSW GBOTA Director and Deputy Chairman, Gerry Lee has advised of his resignation as a
Director of the NSW GBOTA effective immediately.
Mr Lee had been a Director, representing the Newcastle and Hunter River district since 2012.
Mr. Lee cited personal reasons for his resignation.
“I am, however, please to have contributed to the NSW GBOTA,” added Mr. Lee.
“It remains a vital group within the NSW greyhound industry and is clearly an organisation
that has the participants at heart.”
NSW GBOTA Chairman, Geoff Rose, said that Mr Lee’s resignation had been received with
regret.
“Gerry has made an outstanding contribution to the Association and to greyhound racing in
the Newcastle and Hunter River district and greyhound racing generally,” explained Mr Rose.
“Gerry has worked hard to make himself available to greyhound participants and was a prime
driver of the strategic review currently underway within the Association.”
The resignation of Mr. Lee will create a casual vacancy on the NSW Board of Directors and
this matter will be further considered by Directors at their June 2015 Directors meeting.
LADBROKES MONTHLY MEDAL
With Three months of the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal completed, a whopping $30,000 has
been distributed to participants thanks to Ladbrokes.
In the past 7 days, wins have been recorded at Bulli by Shamunska over the 400m (Maiden),
Bathurst by Suzi Cargo in a 4/5th gd bitches only over the 520m and at Gosford, where
Springvale Harry picked up $3600 for a win in the 0-3win 600m stake.
Happy winners are pictured on the GBOTA website with their winners and monthly
medallion, while the greatest win will be felt when the additional money hits the hip pocket.

BULLI
Chilly conditions greeted trainers at Bulli last Wednesday with some fantastic racing decided. The happiest person on course award has to go to Darren Croser after Shamunska picked up the Ladbrokes monthly medal 400m maiden race. This win is what Greyhound racing is all about with the Greyhound trained by Darren’s wife Jo-Ann and handled on the night by daughter Jane. It certainly was a happy moment for the Croser Clan with the Ladbrokes bonus of $1600 on top of the normal prizemoney. The feature final of the evening was taken out by the James Higgins trained Blue Cherokee. The action switched to the GBOTA Challenge series with Fantastic Spiral for Jason Fletcher and Crazy Cosmic for Gary Adams winning the 472m events and Knocka’s Return for Mark Wilcox and the Mark Bell prepared Lachy Balboa sweeping to victory in the two 590m run offs. This should be a great overall series and keep an eye on the GBOTA Website for updates on the point scorer leader boards for the sprint and stayers. Three heats of a restricted 400m event were conducted with heat winners Big Boy Tige for Eric Robinson, Sheba’s Diva for Michelle Shambler, and Cosmic Halo for Allen Ivers. This final will be run on Bulli Gold Cup night. Anthony Azzopardi looks to have a Bulli Cup contestant in King Richard after an impressive tear away win. Bulli will look forward to the running of the Bulli Gold cup heats this Friday night. Nominations for the Bulli Gold Cup night May 29th close Tuesday May 26th with special events listed below. HAS YOUR PUP BEEN TIMED OUT OF THE BULLI PUPPY BOXES WHEN BROKEN IN With the recent upgrade to the Bulli timing you can now get an accurate time from the Bulli puppy boxes with the timer kicking in at the 1st section. Heats of this popular annual feature at Gosford were held on Tuesday last May 19. This event
over the 515m for grade 5 greyhounds has a purse of $10,000 waiting for the winner of next
week’s final.
Three out of the four heat winners broke the 30 seconds with the fastest and most
impressive being Camden Valleyway which recorded a slick 29.63 victory by a big margin of 9
lengths, leading throughout from box 5. Trained by Doug Rodgers Camden Valleyway has
now won 5 from only seven starts including its last three in succession. It started second
favourite in the race and will be very well fancied to win the final. Mana for Paul Roderick
(first reserve from box 2) ran second at big odds to gain a place in the final.
The second heat went to Two Parts Freak which also led all the way from box 4, for trainer
Phil Wall in 30.02. Favourite at $3.50 the greyhound won well by 3 lengths from Tiggerlong
Killa ($15.50) which showed its characteristic strong finish after a slow start for trainer Kevin
Keys.
The winner of heat 3, Jingling, also led throughout from box 4 for trainer Chris Nutt. Jingling
was also a well fancied runner being the $3.60 second favourite. The time was 29.91 with 7
lengths to the runner up Stealthy Gypsy which was at long odds for trainer Anthony Messina.
The final qualifier for the $10,000 final was Devine Awe trained by Pat Parrelli. The winner
was at $6.90 and finished 1 length clear of Toe Punt which gave Paul Roderick two finalists.
Devine Awe was the third heat winner to come from box 4 – the time was 29.96.
A great final beckons next week – there’s plenty of talent in the race and, as always, the start
will be so important.
