Students have music twice a week for the entire school year with Joann Meitler and dance with Rachel Kimball and Mary Martha Jackson. The goal of this instruction is two-fold; help students become more knowledgeable and skilled in the state music and dance core, and to use music and dance to enrich, strengthen, and enliven the other core curriculum areas.

The dance and music teachers meet regularly with the classroom teachers and discuss the science and social studies curriculum and ways to integrate the curriculum with the fine arts. This method of using multiple learning strategies has been very successful at Oakridge as the children dance, sing, and play their way through the fine arts, science, social studies, literacy and math curriculum.
