^ News Karoo Keeping up with the Karoo Kids The Principals and PE teachers of Karoo, Lysterfield and Park Ridge wanted to say a huge thank you and well done on each schools amazing effort in last weeks Virtual Interschool Cross Country. We wanted to say how proud we are of you all taking part in an event that has helped connect, empower and strengthen our communities during this remote learning period. We hope you all had a lot of fun walking, jogging or running. It was great to see the many photos, videos and posters you all made to cheer on your school during this event. Collectively the 3 schools combined ran 2,400km that is equivalent in distance from the Corner of Kelletts and Napoleon Rds to Townsville in far north Qld or to Alice Springs in central Australia. The event also had a competitive element to it which you were all aware. FINAL PLACINGS 1st: Lysterfield [1,052 Kms] 2nd: Park Ridge [ 629 Kms] 3rd: Karoo [ 619 Kms] Then we have a challenge for you! The teachers and staff at Karoo have accepted a challenge and SO SHOULD YOU! Click on the link below, find out what the challenge is and get involved! Keeping up with the Karoo Kids

The Principals and PE teachers of Karoo, Lysterfield and Park Ridge wanted to say a huge thank you and well done on each schools amazing effort in last week’s Virtual Interschool Cross Country. We wanted to say how proud we are of you all taking part in an event that has helped connect, empower and strengthen our communities during this remote learning period. It has come to our notice that Karoo Kids love a challenge and this week was no exception!

You were certainly busy in your kitchens … and what a smorgasbord of goodies you

produced! Thank you to all our clever cooks who have supplied photos and recipes for the

Karoo community to enjoy. From biscuits to pancakes, dumplings to pasties, cakes big and

small and everything in between — we loved it all!

Keeping up with the Karoo Kids

Hannah (2M) baked her family bacon and egg cups for dinner last Wednesday as part of an online, interactive kids cooking class. The recipe for this simple but tasty dish is provided.

They were delicious!

made a Gluten Free Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake with ice-cream on top of course! It was delicious! We also made Anzac Biscuits too - gluten free and didn’t last long!

Alicia (FE) shows us just how easy it is to make sushi snacks!

Today Josie (3H) made Mississippi mud cake cupcakes and

Jeremy (FAM) made lemon slice. And last week Josie made

a blue vanilla cake for her brothers who helped decorate it, and all the kids made Easter bunny brownies. Happy eating to us!!

Mischa (6V) has baked Thai Chicken Pasties

and Thai Basil Chicken.

She has also baked chocolate cupcakes and brownies, and her next cooking project is making cheesy chicken nuggets and salted caramel cheesecake.

because Chloe had been reading all about Fairytales for the past few weeks (and the Gingerbread Man is one of our favorites!),and pizza—we made the dough from scratch too. They were yum!
