exhibitionsrevolving gallery exhibitions every four to six weeks

Itrsquos not often we talk of the Annual Show before it opens typically we announce the prize winners and include images from the installation Think of this as a teasermdashan enticement to come enjoy the show This year the showrsquos 49th year will have over 90 pieces So far the most prevalent category is photography followed by painting Yoursquoll see artists who are old favorites and encounter new ones

The show is a perennial Arts Center favorite simply because of the scale and the opportunity to see so many pieces Many of the works are affordable so each year people often come to purchase original art An added feature that makes the exhibition unique is its inclusivity Some might argue that the quality of the art suffers when everyone is allowed to show their work whether professional amateur beginner or youth but where else can these artists get an opportunity to share their efforts We hope that the young beginning and amateur can use the show to gain exposure and learn from the professionals

The Annual always gives me a challenging installation the great diversity of medium style and shear number of pieces makes laying out the show an adventure I look for subtle relationships in color theme and works that speak to each other I might shift and reorganize the artwork several dozen times before I even hang an a single piece Sometimes people recognize the ldquogamesrdquo I play - its always fun to see peoplersquos reaction
