I am happy and excited to present the extended Magazine edition of the New Year, Rosh Hashanah. In few days we'll sit with family and friends and we will be filled with hope and dreams. One of my hopes for myself is to constantly develop creativity. Not block it and not limit it. I believe that we are only a tool to transfer the power of expression of a higher power. A power that is bigger than us, the power of life.In this issue we present artworks of over 150 different artists. NOAM BEN-HORINNoam Ben Horin was born in Israel, 1953. Noam Ben Horin graduated from the design and art academy of Betzalel, Jerusalem at 1982. Since then he has presented his work in exhibitions in Israel and Europe. Childhood views of Beit Sheaan Valley, life in urban surrounding, currant mind set, passing images, a daily news session all come together and crystallise in Noam Ben Horin’s work into an abstract to semi abstract creation which attracts the observer into endless and eternal depths.

Exhibition BOOKFACE in the Jaffa Harbor This exhibition is homage to the ten years anniversary of the face-book depicting various aspects of the social networks.

The opening ceremony is on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 20.00.

The exhibition features images appearing in the social networks from various aspects as seen by the artists. Much information can be gleaned by looking at the images, such as biographies and life stories of the individuals.

This unique exhibition will be displayed for one month and in it artists, painters, photographers and sculptors will participate depicting their own lives and lives of others through portraits. These facial features speak to us, they tell us about the joy, anger, sadness and hopes of the various subjects. But they also tell us about their religion, race, and gender and often it is a journey of discovery and of self-discovery as well.

How important is the photograph in the face-book? How important is beauty, or is facial expression more important? What materials does the artists use for creating aspecific portrait? Does the subject look at the spectator? Can there be a dialoguebetween the spectator and the image? How is the life story of the subject embodied in his features? Do his features tell the real story of his personality? Generations of artists throughout human history have told us biographies through the media of portraits.

The selections of portraits in the networks is an interesting subject in itself, how do they relate to the observer, the situation and atmosphere in which were they created. Are they based on live models or on photographs, or perhaps on reflections in a mirror.Lucien Freud, the great artist claimed that he re-constructed the images. This is what he said: «I am drawing people…not because what they are, not in spite of it, but because what they are by some chance…»

The exhibition will close on October 1, 2014
