ISO 13709 1st Edition / API-610 10th Edition Exceptions - Pump Model LMV-313 (Revision 0)

5.1.6 A 5% head increase may not be possible with an impeller change only.

5.1.17 The radial clearance between the diffuser throat and impeller may be less than 3%.

5.3.12 O-ring sealing surfaces have a Ra surface finish of 2,03 micro-meters (80 micro inches).

5.6.14 Sundyne uses stress concentration factors by R.E. Peterson with a ratio R/D of 0,025.

5.8 Sundyne uses a unique proprietary seal design that is not completely compatible with API 682. The Sundyne seal design is a "semi-cartridge" type that does not require measuring, shimming or setting for installation.

5.9.3 Vibration readings shall be taken according to Sundyne Test procedure, which does not include as standard Fast Fourier Transform spectra. The maximum filtered vibration measured at four (4) points equivalent to customer minimum flow, midway between minimum flow and rated flow, rated flow and 110% of rated flow shall not exceed a velocity of 3,81 mm/s and 5,08 mm/s unfiltered (0,15 in/sec and 0,20 in/sec unfiltered) or displacement of 1,5 mils (2,0 mils unfiltered). Readings will be taken on the gearbox bearing plate during the performance test.

5.9.3.5 Pump high speed (impeller) shaft displacement shall be recorded only in case non-contacting probes are part of the Sundyne scope of supply.

5.10.2.5 Cooling , when required, is provided by use a shell and tube heat exchanger with tubes less than 12 mm (0,50 in).

5.10.2.7 Sundyne integral gearboxes use a lip seals on the input shaft and a mechanical seal on the output shaft.

6.1.5 The standard motor will start the pump at 90% voltage. A special motor for 80% voltage start is available on request.

6.2.2.d Sundyne pumps will require that the motor be removed whenever the impeller is to be removed.

6.3.4 Shims are used under the pump on units with a vertical motor stand.

6.5.2.5 Orifice diameters less than 3 mm (0,12 in) may be required on API seal flush plans.

7.3.3.3.a.1 A Sundyne pump cannot be operated at shutoff and as such is not tested at that point.

7.3.3.3.c The pump test speed may not be at the rated speed. The actual test speed is shown on the Sundyne Pump data sheet.

7.3.3.4.a The pump will operate within the limits stated in our comments to paragraph 5.9.3.

7.3.3.5.d An air test is only performed when a house seal and/or o-rings are used for the performance test. The test pressure is 50 psig for 30 seconds with less 5 psi drop for acceptance and is based on the seal manufacturer's recommendation.

8.1.3.7 The pump will operate within the limits stated in our comments to paragraph 5.9.3 of the standard.

9.2.2.1.a A Sundyne is an engineered pump and a general arrangement drawings will be available after receipt of an order. A typical drawing will be furnished, if required.

9.2.2.1.c A Sundyne is an engineered pump, bills of material lists will be available after receipt of an order.

9.2.3.e Interchangeability spare parts list are available based on the order requirements.

9.2.4 Sundyne standard curves will be provided.

9.3.2.2 Sundyne standard curves will be provided.

9.3.4.1 Materials on Recommend Spares Lists and Parts Lists are defined by Sundyne's part number and reference list.

API-610 10th Edition Clarifications - Pump Model LMV-313 (Revision 0)

3.47 The rotor in a Sundyne pump is the high speed shaft rotating assembly only.

5.1.12 Viscosity correction calculations, developed by Sundyne, are similar to the Hydraulic Institute Standard's methods.

5.1.28 A calibrated test motor is used to test the pumps. Pump performance shall be evaluated upon the results of the factory performance tests.

5.3.13 Jackscrews are not required for pump disassembly.

5.4.3.6 Pipe nipples attached to the casing may be longer than 150 mm (6 in). Buffer/Barrier fluid nipples are schedule 80 pipe.

5.6.6 A proprietary o-ring groove centers the shaft sleeve.

5.6.9 Sundyne uses a seal design with a rotating hard face that allows the stationary seal assembly to conform to greater shaft deflections.

5.7.1 Wear rings are not required on open impellers and semi-open impellers in Sundyne pump.

5.10.2.4.a The lube oil sump temperature only will be monitored during shop testing.

5.11 This section is not applicable to high-speed integral gear (OH6) pumps.

5.12.1.2 The materials of construction are as shown on the Sundyne Pump Specification Sheets and exceeds these requirements.

5.12.1.3 O-rings material selection and temperature rating will be as shown on the Sundyne Pump Specification Sheet.

5.12.1.4 The materials of construction are as shown on the Sundyne Pump Specification Sheets.

5.13.2.h The bearing manufacturer’s identity numbers are not shown (as standard) on the nameplate.

6.2.6 Sundyne uses a proprietary aerospace design for keys and keyways that exceed ISO/R772 (ANSI/AGMA 9002 Commercial Class).

6.2.9 Standard couplings do not have puller holes. Couplings with puller holes are available on request.

6.2.12 Sundyne pumps with splined connection or close coupled couplings are aligned by registered rabbet fits and require no further alignment.

6.5.3 Cooling water piping will be provided if required by the pump and is specified by the customer.

7.3.1.3 It may not always possible to use the job seals during the factory performance test. See paragraph 7.3.3.2(b) in the standard.

7.3.3.4.b See comment to paragraph 5.10.2.4.a of the standard above.

7.4.1 Standard domestic packaging is not suitable for outdoor storage.

7.4.3.1 All pumps are disassembled after testing to assure cleanliness prior to shipment.

7.4.3.5 Flanged openings are covered with plastic flange protectors for domestic packaging on U.S.A. manufactured pumps.
