Niko leads the way with home automation solutions that are easy to use and save energy (8/1/2009)

Stand 11G58, Integrated Systems Europe 2009

Looking forward to its second year at ISE 2009, Niko is the Belgian market-leading electrical company that is making its mark across Europe with its Smart Home Solution. The history of Niko features a series of innovative products and the company is now so well established in its home market of Belgium that it has achieved over 70% market penetration for its electrical switches. As far back as the Sixties, Niko was demonstrating an empathy for customizing the home by delivering a 'lifestyle' with its products.

Demonstrating its commitment to the growing home automation market, Niko will showcase some of the stunning new products and ranges that are part of its strategy to grow its market share across Europe in 2009.

In brief, the products on show this year at ISE will include:

A stylish and user-friendly touchscreen. This acts as the central control panel integrating all the controls in a home. This new touchscreen from Niko makes control of the installation extremely simple since all the buttons on the screen can be used as if they were ordinary switches. For increased user confidence, every control function performed on the screen is confirmed by a short beep and any programming is easily performed using the supplied PC software.

The Niko range of internal and external units for access control is comprehensive, with all models delivering superb performance, easy installation and optional extensions that allow for impressive flexibility in configuring access systems.

Also on show at ISE will be examples from Niko's wide range of motion and smoke detectors for both indoor and outdoor applications.

The outdoor detectors have an exceptionally large detection range and respond almost instantly to any movement. They are perfect for controlling garden or driveway lighting and can contribute significantly to major energy savings. A similar range is offered for indoor applications in both the home and in commercial offices and buildings.

HiddenWires - Niko leads the way with home automation solutions that are easy to use and save energy

Energy conservation is high on the list of priorities at Niko, as its Daylight Control Detectors prove. These allow the lighting in both a living or working environment to be automatically set to an optimal level matched to the level of the ambient daylight; and in doing so avoid unnecessary overuse of energy. Their installation is simple and the programming as easy as you would expect with a Niko home automation product. The lighting is controlled either by the Nikobus home automation system or through the use of a simple push button.

Complementing the line-up at ISE are no less than three stylish ranges of control products.

The Niko Pure, the Niko Intense and the Niko Original ranges provide dimmers, switches with LED indicators, thermostats, motion detectors, socket outlets, push buttons, telephone sockets, data communication connections and more; and all in a wide choice of colours and finishes to enable interior designers to create that perfect look.

The latest addition to this portfolio is the Niko Mysterious switch, the challenge is to find it on the wall as it is probably the most discreet switch currently available - disappearing into the wall when not required.

Commenting on the Company's attendance at ISE, Niko UK's Steven Calder, said: "Last year, we attended the Show for the first time and we were delighted with our reception there. One year on, our products are stronger and despite the current climate of gloom, we continue to be optimistic that business in this sector will continue to grow. Niko has worked hard to develop solutions that are extremely reliable, easy to install and to use, with a clear understanding of the need for energy efficiency.

"The interest and attention that Niko enjoyed at its first ISE confirmed its position as a company which will become prominent in the market. We're looking forward to explaining how and why to everyone who visits our stand this year."
