What is a dual language immersion program?Instruction of the core content is taught in two languages, English and Spanish. Native English and native Spanish speakers work together to learn form and with each other. The mission of the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) is to produce bilingual, biliterate and multicultural learners who are critical thinkers, leaders and contributors in a diverse and competitive 21st century world.

Program GoalsThe students will develop average to superior progress in achieving the objectives of the state curriculum as they become:• Bilingual: develop speaking and listening fluency in

StaffAll professional staff are either bilingual or ESL certified at the elementary level and content certified at the secondary level. Dual Language Immersion teachers are also trained in second language acquisition to specifically meet the needs of students learning in a dual language environment. They follow state and district curriculum to ensure quality academic instruction.

¿Qué es un programa de Inmersión de Lenguaje Dual? Es un programa con instrucción en inglés y español que cubre el contenido esencial requerido. Los estudiantes que hispanoparlantes y nativos de inglés, trabajan juntos y aprenden del uno al otro, para ser bilingües y bialfabetos. Personal Todo personal profesional tiene certificación Bilingüe o ESL (inglés como segundo idioma) al nivel primario, y certificación por materia al nivel intermedio y secundario. Los maestros del programa de immersion de lenguaje dual están entrenados específicamente en la adquisiciónde un segundo idioma para cubrir las necesidades de aprendizaje de los estudiantes en este tipo de programa. Ellos siguen el currículo del estado y del distrito asegurando la calidad de la enseñanza académica.
