Topic
IT Governance - Reflections on Risk and Value
The mission of enterprise governance of IT is to create value for the enterprise. A
generally accepted definition of value is Benefits minus Costs. However this needs to
be adjusted for Risks. The higher the risk, the greater the value should be. When
considering good practices for governance of IT, the concepts of Value and Risk need
to drive the selection, implementation and execution of the governance practices. This
presentation will make parallels with major findings from top researchers on
governance best practices and on the experiences and practices of high-reliability
organisations.
