This is the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Directory and we are pleased and excited to bring you a completely updated Directory website. I am sure that all users and advertisers will find it to be a very useful tool and will help to make a significant contribution to everyone’s success. Instrumentation and Automation continue to be key parts of the major projects that are underway.
Thank you to all the advertisers for their support in bringing this publication to the Instrumentation community.

Congratulations to the Calgary Section for a very successful Exhibit and Conference this year. Best wishes for success to the Edmonton Section who will be hosting the 2014 Exhibit and Conference April 30th - May 1st, 2014 at the Edmonton Expo centre.
It has been my pleasure to work with Marietta Miller and her staff at Execu Graphx Inc. I would like to express my thanks for producing another fine publication and for their work and dedication on the Directory website upgrade. It was a difficult task considering the time lines and I think you will agree that the end product is more useful and user-friendly. Well done!

...Edmonton Section PresidentIt’s hard to believe that summer is ending which means it’s time for me to start my term as President for the Edmonton ISA section. It seems like yesterday when Dave Robinson took me to a meeting to see what ISA was all about. I liked what I saw so I joined the Board as a marketing assistant and now four years later I am lucky enough to get elected as President. As they say, time sure flies when you are having fun!
I am very lucky to have such a great group of talented and dedicated people join me on the ISA Board this year and we are going to need them! This is going to be an extremely busy year. We kick things off with our first technical meeting being held at Leduc #1 Discovery Center where John Prusakowski, the Vice President of the Suncor Refinery, will be discussing what the Edmonton refinery had to do in order to handle 100% of the Alberta bitumen feedstock. Afterwards you will have an opportunity to tour the museum where you can travel back into history and see how the
industry where most of us make our living started and how it has evolved. As we look back and thank all of the pioneers of the industry before us we also look to the future. The Edmonton ISA Board is doing that by participating in the ISA Fall Leaders meeting in Nashville in November. As mentioned this is a very busy year with not only our monthly technical meetings but also the biannual conference and exhibit, Oilsands Automation conference in Fort McMurray, ISA Student Games with NAIT and U of A students, the 5th Annual ISA Golf Tournament and two scheduled courses for professional development. On October 24th we have Introduction to Boiler Control Systems and on February 27 we have an Overview of Grounding and Noise Reduction for Control Equipment; both are very relevant to our growing industry.
One last thing is I’d like thank all of the organizers of the 4th Annual Golf Tournament which was held on August 23rd at the Ranch. This tournament has grown every year with the help of our corporate sponsors, volunteers, and you, our members. This year we grew to 120 golfers and we hope to get that number up to the maximum of 144 golfers, with your help. I would like to congratulate the winning team Stephen Brazell, Tyler Tomlison, Scott Hendersen, Brent Melnychuk, and thank all of the volunteers that helped organize and run this successful tournament. Once again, thank you to all of the new and old board members that committed their time, energy and talents to help run the ISA Edmonton section and I look forward to working with you. The directory is a useful tool for keeping all of us current with the products and services available in our industry, plus it includes some helpful information in the technical section.
