Sandra,Our Lucinda Bentley's mother was a Whitlock, of which there are a number of Whitlock's in the county. We are unsure at this time if they are directily related, but very likely some Whitlock relatives came toTexas from Alabama with other relatives. Lucinda was born in S.C., moved to Ala. with her parents andmarried T.L. Cox in Blount Co., Ala. The Cox family moved to Upshur Co., Tx. in the early 1850's.Lucinda's mother was Mary 'Polly' Whitlock, daughter of William & Mary (Rountree) Whitlock ofGoochland Co., Virginia & Union Co., S.c. William,Jr. was the son of William & Grizzell (Coleman)Whitlock, Sf. of Virginia. Have you run into any of these names? Weare welcoming any and allWhitlock's and looking for all connections that might connect with our families. Hope you can make ourReunion and who knows what connections will made.
