Our Models: Five beasts from Shan Hai Jing and yuangu era
Our Beasts应龙 (yinglong)-winged dragon, brings rain.
Our Beasts饕餮 (taotie)-Carnivorous quadruped, demon, Gluttony
Our Beasts玄武 (xuanwu)-Tortoise and snake. One of the four symbols of Chinese constellation.
Our Beasts刑天 (xingtian)-Headless warrior, wields an axe and shield, eyes and mouth on his body.
Our Beasts 狰 (zheng)-Five-tailed leopard-like animal

Preliminary Sketches
Sketches-Tortoise head given beak-like mouth (Fiercer)-Opal eye of snake gives more unnerving look
Sketches-Feathery wings reinforce idea that it is a heavenly creature-Slightly more reptilian head than Chinese dragons
Sketches-Lack of eyes, two mouths -> Shows that this is a creature of hunger-The bottom design is based on a crocodile’s body (Glutton)-Top Design tiger-like (Hunter)
Sketches-Experimentation with combining different animals-Horse-like body with wings, human face
Sketches-Experimentation with body type-Obese, Muscular, Cartoony-Clothing/Armor- Bare Minimal Loincloth etc.
