is spray foam insulation right for my attic?
TRANSCRIPT
There are two different types of
spray foam insulation: closed-cell and open-cell,
both of which are perfect for attics and other small,
cramped spaces within a home.
Spray foam is ideal for attics
because it can act as a moisture barrier, preventing
water from getting in and causing costly damages.
This type of insulation can easily be
installed in even the smallest nooks and
crannies throughout a house, including the attic.
Although newer homes are ideal for
spray foam insulation, older homes can be
retrofitted with it with no problems whatsoever.
Spray foam insulation can be
installed in both vented and unvented homes,
though certain steps need to be taken to ensure
that important vents in this area remain functional.
The attic is the area of a house where
air infiltration is the biggest concern,
which is why it is such a good idea to
install spray foam in the flooring and walls.
