Is Having Healthy Teeth All About Luck?
Everyone has that one friend who brags about:
● Shirking their healthy oral habits
● Swearing off flossing● Not brushing as consistently
as they should
And claiming that they have a perfect set of teeth anyway, never having a cavity.
And you may be the person who;
● Very health-conscious● Doesn’t overindulge in
sugary drinks● Depriving yourself from
having snacks
Yet still always seems to get a poor report from the dentist when you go.
Genetics have been found to determine;
• How soft your tooth enamel is
• How well permanent teeth come in
• Or your need for braces
Unfairly, some need to put much more work into prevention than others do to get the perfect white smile that you may desire.
The Genetic Factor
Your Routine Matters
• Having healthy teeth is largely about how you take care of them on a daily basis.
• Brush smartly and effectively to avoid cavities, gum diseases and other health issues.
• Brushing too hard with a hard toothbrush can harm soft enamel.
• Do not over-brush or floss.
• ALWAYS listen to your dentist’s recommendation and don’t do more than what you need.
• Drinking sugary soda
• Overindulging in sweets
Will both have a negative effect on your oral health and will increase your potential of getting cavities
The Effects of Food
Some just need to work harder than others even after they reduce the sugar in their
diet.
