WC: 25.5.20Fun tasks

I have put together a list of ten activities you may want to do over half term. These are all for fun and you can pick and chose what appeals to you.

1. Create a blackout poem using this poem:

A blackout poem is when you select parts of a poem (phrases or key words) to create a new poem. It can be

related to the original poem or something new. Here is an example:

2. Create a sewing card using some card from a cereal box. You could use shoe laces if you don’t have or are not ready to try with a needle and thread.

4. Make some painted stones and hide in the local area. Nail varnish is ideal for painting stones.

5. Read The Most Magnificent Thing on getepic.com. It’s a fantastic book 👍. What could you invent?

6. Make a word-search using words from your science lessons or your spellings from the last few weeks. You could use this template, add your hidden words first then

fill in with letters.

7. Make a mini sports day using tape lines. Children can improve their maths skills by using a tape measure to see how far family members can jump. Mix it up by throwing a soft toys, rolling a ball etc.

8. Raid the peg bag to have some engineering fun. Challenge each other to build the highest tower.

9. Use toilet tubes to make a marble run.
