  3. 7. Introduction Ireland is divided into two parts : NorthernIreland and Ireland. Northern Ireland is composed of Ulster. The other provinces; the Connaught, Leinster and Munster, are part ofthe Republic of Ireland.
  4. 9. Ulster In this part of Ireland, we can findthe mythic Giant's Causeway. The Irish coast is the result of a few million of years. This ancient volcanic landcreated these columns.
  5. 11. Munster In the area of Munster there is a lot of castles notably Blarney Castle. Blarney Castle is located in the town of Blarney in the County of Cork, Ireland.The castle dates back to the eleventh century. Destroyed in 1446, it was rebuilt by Dermot McCarthy, King of Munster.At the top of the castle, just below the slots of the dungeon is the "stone of eloquence". It is said that if you kiss the stone you are given the power of eloquence.

  8. 14. In the past, Leinster was subject to many rivalries. It is the part of Ireland which has been the most colonized.The traces of this history can be found in the heritage of the county. Today, Leinster is an attractive blend of beautiful scenery and modern cities, with more than half of the inhabitants of the Republic of Ireland living there.Leinster
  9. 15. In Leinster, you can visit Newgrange, the largest and most spectacular Neolithic monument in Europe, and go for a walk in the lush surroundings of Wicklow and Kilkenny, famous for its rich Anglo-Norman architecture and lively atmosphere.
