NATURE OF WORK DONE, Duties Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

In General.

1) Preparing consolidated Bill of Quantities (BOQ).

2) Checking changes in drawing to assess the effect on cost.

3) Examine and certifying sub contractor’s invoices / bills.

4) Visiting site for actual measurements (Handling alone complete Site

NATURE OF WORK DONE, Duties Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Particular in detail.

1) Supervising and directing the activities of assigned junior staff of Quantity Surveying unit, Performs supervisory duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position, reviewing tender invitation documents & evaluation of bids.

2) Representing Contracts section on construction sites to monitor and provide contract related and cost control advice to COMPANY’s site representatives and other project personnel with respect to cost and contractual implications of changes in specifications during revisions, to Ensures that COMPANY’s conditions of contract are fully adhered and project expenditure remains within approved budget limits.

3) Prepares monthly evaluation of work done on various contracts assigned, in liaison with respective project team, based on approved rates as indicated in related contracts.

4) Determines values of work done by conducting proposal measurements or by setting realistic project milestones for effecting payments to ensures that financial and contractual provisions of assigned contracts are interpreted and implemented correctly to protect the company’s financial interests.

5) Examining monthly payment proposals / invoices and related Payment Certificates and Variation Orders as applicable, to ensure conformity with contract’s terms and conditions. Distributes costs to appropriate charge accounts, where applicable.

6) Coordinates with site execution teams to maintain a complete and up-to-date records of transport, construction plant, materials and manpower used, for preparing Variation Orders & change orders.

7) Participates in the project meeting with the successful bidder after contract award to discuss and agree project milestones and COMPANY procedures related to work measurement, progress reporting, preparation, payment processing system, etc.

8) Assist the PM in the review of contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval & maintain Contract Execution Tracking Log. Prepare contracts and negotiate changes to contracts with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

9) Directs the activities of quantity surveyors of various disciplines involved in the provision of QS services to various projects on short/long terms basis to ensure that COMPANY’s interests are protected and established procedures are observed correctly.

10) Monitors contractors’ compliance with the contracts terms and conditions closely and alerts management and/or COMPANY site representative of corrective action to be taken to avert potential claims situation.

11) Prepares contract close out and final accounts, includes carrying out final re- measurement of quantities (as applicable) using physical measurements or on the basis of “as built” drawings.

12) Creates and maintains proper subject files for documents pertaining to claim situation raised by contractors to facilitate future analysis. Coordinates with project and contract engineers / personnel in investigation and analysis of contractors’ claims and their settlements.

13) Work with capital planner for project work to develop detailed plans for the projects and estimate resource requirements; combining with the needs of the revenue plan to estimate resource requirements.

14) Preparing weekly progress reports based on weekly planned schedule project measurement system. Pay attention to details break down of project planning schedule - review the draft plan and final plan in detail, check and feedback any issues to the planning group.

15) Track / manage contemplated change orders in the database & keep the Project Manager (PM) and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations. Coordinate with execution, planning and cost controlling teams to ensure that costs are controlled.

16) Prepare progress reports for clients & assisting PM by using project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures. Assist the PM in the issuance of project proposals, tenders, budgets, cash flows & preliminary schedules.
