The Naghsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan is one of the largest city squares in the world and an outstanding example of Iranian and Islamic architecture. It has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
Piaţa Naghsh-e Jahan din Esfahan este una dintre cele mai mari pieţe citadine din lume şi un formidabil exemplu de arhitectură iraniană şi islamică. Ea a fost inclusă în Patrimoniul Universal UNESCO
One of the great works of Shah Abass was "The Pattern of the world" or Naqsh-e Jahan Square which is a real jewel in Isfahan's crown. This majestic collection of buildings fits money, worship and aristocratic pleasures together in deliberate visual harmony.

Imam Square (Naqsh-E Jahan Square), second largest in the world. Outdone only by Tianamen Square in China.
Many interesting shops with different specialties line the square.
Esfahan’s splendor began with the reign of the Safavid Shah Abbas I (1587-1629), who made the city his capital and built the huge bazaar, which was strategically located on the Silk Road.
Naqsh-e Jahan is surrounded by a layer of shops. Behind these shops there are several parts of the bazaar, like caravanserais and peripheral markets for different businesses. Another remarkably high, tiled entrance in the Bazaar
