Entomology – Results Highlights

• Thrips

– 2 of 5 experiments complete (2014-2015)

• Mainspring performed well for Western Flower Thrips

• Beginning to screen cyclaniliprole

• Armored Scale

– 7 of 8 experiments complete (2014); 0 of 7 for 2015

• Mainspring, Xxpire, SuffOil X performed well across armored scale species (2014)

• Started examining BAS 440 I, BYI-2960, and cyclaniliprole

• Botrytis–5 of 9 experiments complete (2014-2015)

• Screening different species did validate different product sensitivities among pathogens

• BAS703 and S2200 provided excellent efficacy for B. elliptica and B. tulipae, but variable for B. cinerea

• Leaf Spots & Anthracnose–3 of 8 experiments complete (2014-2015)

• Insufficient data to summarize at this time

In Summary

• IR-4 research activities are still impacting labels and benefiting growers

• The Botrytis and Thrips efficacy projects continue to screen new active ingredients for activity

• The Bacterial Disease and Foliar Feeding Beetle efficacy projects will test new active ingredients for these problems

• The In-Season Pre-emergent Herbicide and Ornamental Grass crop safety projects are still identifying herbicide-crop combinations with no to little injurious effects and those growers should avoid
