June 8.—Plan for liquidation of Northern States Power Co. of Delaware apparently places a value on Class A common stock of company far in excess of investor's expectations, says Dow-Jones. On basis of seven times 1941 earn- ings of Northern States Power Co. of Minnesota, whose common is to be exchanged for preferred and common of the Delaware concern, present Northern States Power Class A stock has indicated vglue of nearly $11 a share. It currently'is selling around $5, to which level it advanced from a 1942 low of l'». Utility equities comparable to North- ern States of Minnesota currently are selling at somewhat less than seven times earnings. HAVE YOU A HOUSE FOR RENT? P.> —Tex- tile mills and converters today were occupied with the usual Monday checkup, and only scattered sales were reported against Government orders and to the civilian tradr Nearby supplies of grey goods wt?re pretty well cleaned up and producers were reluctant to offer materials for the third and last quarters. Little business was done in woolen and rayon textiles as mills awaited further government orders. * Thomas M. Tryniski 309 South 4th Street Fulton New York 13069 www.fultonhistory.com

High Liquidating Price Seen for Utility

NEW YORK. June 8.—Plan for liquidation of Northern States Power Co. of Delaware apparently places a value on Class A common stock of company far in excess of investor's expectations, says Dow-Jones.

On basis of seven times 1941 earnings of Northern States Power Co. of Minnesota, whose common is to be exchanged for preferred and common of the Delaware concern, present Northern States Power Class A stock has indicated vglue of nearly $11 a share. It currently'is selling around $5, to which level it advanced from a 1942 low of l'». Utility equities comparable to Northern States of Minnesota currently are selling at somewhat less than seven times earnings.
