Upgrad ation lChange of Branch will be effective w.e.f. the 3'd semester which has already commenced from the Academic Session 2019-20. The students of B.Tech. Engineering Programme studying in University Schools of Studies. affiliated Colleges / Institutes of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, who have been promoted to the third semester in the academic session 2019-20 are hereby informed that tlie process of Upgradation I Change of Branch is being initiated by the University and the l-lpgradation / Change of Branch will be within the same University School and same affiliated College / Institute. It is further clarified that the Upgradation / Change of Branch will be within the same shift wherever two shifts are functional. The Upgradation/ Change of Branch will be done strictly on the basis of the merit prepared on the basis of marks, i.e. SGPA obtained by the students in both the first and second semester of B.Tech. Programme subject to availability of vacancies in the University School / atflliated College / Institute as on 15.08.2019. The vacant seats as on 15.08.2019 in 3'd semester will be considered only within the Sanctioned Intake of the Academic Session in which the students have been admitted in the session 2018-19. These vacant seats in 3rd semester shall be frlled through Upgradation I Change of Branch in each programme in the same institute subject to availability of the vacancies. Upgradation / Change of Branch means change of branch of Engineering Programme by a stLrdent in the same college in the same shift on the basis of merit e.g. a student studying in IT in a particular college can be Upgraded/Change of Branch to any other branch like CSE, ECE, MAE. etc. in the same College/ Institute/ School subject to availability of vacancies and the sanctioned intake. It may be noted that Change of Shift (e.g. from second shift to first or vice versa in the same institute or from one institute to the other) is not covered under the process of lJpgradation / Change of Branch and as such it is not permitted. The students who have joined 3'd Semester in the session 20lg-20 and are desirous of lJpgradation/Changing their Branch in the Engineering Programme, within the same institute, ma1' apply to the Dean/Director/Principal of the concemed School / Institute in the proforma enclosed by 26.08.2019 forenoon. The students while applying to the Deans / Directors / Principal of the concerned Schools orthe affiliated Institutes shall also forward an advance copy to tlie University addressed to the Joint Registrar (Admissions), Administrative Block, NOTICE

The students of B.Tech. Engineering Programme studying in University Schools ofStudies. affiliated Colleges / Institutes of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, who havebeen promoted to the third semester in the academic session 2019-20 are hereby informed thattlie process of Upgradation I Change of Branch is being initiated by the University and thel-lpgradation / Change of Branch will be within the same University School and same affiliatedCollege / Institute. It is further clarified that the Upgradation / Change of Branch will be withinthe same shift wherever two shifts are functional.

The vacant seats as on 15.08.2019 in 3'd semesterwill be considered only within the Sanctioned Intake of the Academic Session in which thestudents have been admitted in the session 2018-19. These vacant seats in 3rd semester shall befrlled through Upgradation I Change of Branch in each programme in the same institute subjectto availability of the vacancies.

Upgradation / Change of Branch means change of branch of Engineering Programme bya stLrdent in the same college in the same shift on the basis of merit e.g. a student studying in ITin a particular college can be Upgraded/Change of Branch to any other branch like CSE, ECE,MAE. etc. in the same College/ Institute/ School subject to availability of vacancies and thesanctioned intake. The Dean / Director / Principal of the University School / affiliatedcollege / institute shall forward the consolidated list alongwith the original copy of applicationsto tlre office of Joint Registrar (Admissions) latest by 04:00 pm of 27.08.2019.Tlie Dean / Director / Principal of the University Schools / affiliated colleges / institutes shallalso upload the list of candidates who have applied for Upgradation / Change of Branch on theirotflcial website also on 26.08.2019 itself. The list alongwith applications received after 04:00pn1 on 27 -08-2019 will not be entertained by the University. The complete list of applicationsreceived in time will be displayed on the University website on 28.08.2019. The cases approvedfbr upgradation / change of branch/programme will be notified latest by 31.08.2019 on the[J n iversity's Website: www.ipu.ac.in.

It is also informed that under no circumstances, those who have once applied forUpgradation / Change of Branch and have been subsequently upgraded to any Branch / Streamas per the options exercise by the candidate shall be allowed to withdraw their application. Anafl-rdavit to this effect is also required to be submitted by the students alongwith their applicationfbrm.

Deans/ Directors/ Principals of the University / affiliated colleges / institutes are

requested to forward a compiled list of all applicants alongwith the applications of the studentsseeking UpgradatiorVChange of branch, certifying that the details filled by the students havebeen checked and found correct (both hard & soft copies).

Under no circumstances single application or part list for Upgradation/ Change of Branchr.r'ill be sent by Deans/ Directors/Principal of the School/ Institute/ College unless there is onlyone applicant available in the School/ Institute/ College seeking Upgradation/ Change of branch.

The Dean / Director / Principal of the University School affiliated College / Institute arealso hereby requested to forward the details of vacant seats in Engineering Degree Programme as

on 15.08.2019 in the 3'd semester to the office of the Registrar by 23.08.2019 and a copy of thesevacant seats in Engineering Degree Programme in third semester branch-wise shall also beuploaded on their own official website.
