IPM DUBAI FINAL REPORT September 26 – 28, 2011 Airport Expo Dubai IPM DUBAI 2011 INTERNATIONAL AND ECONOMICALLY STRONG: FAIR VENUE OF DUBAI ONCE AGAIN CONFIRMED ITS SIGNIFICANCE FOR THE GREEN SECTOR. The sixth IPM DUBAI and the third WOP DUBAI came to an end with a total of 4,321 trade visitors from 54 coun- tries. The 21-percent growth in the number of visitors con- firms the significance of the fairs by the Persian Gulf: „We had a first-rate trade public“, was the unanimous opinion of the surveyed exhibitors. The fairs were opened by Hus- sain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the Dubai Munici- pality. At the same time, the Dubai Municipality is the most important partner as far as the organisation of both events is concerned. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum agreed to become the patron of IPM DUBAI already for the sixth time in succession. At the most important horticultural fair in the Gulf region, 119 exhibitors presented products and services from the fields of plants, technology, sales promo- tion, plant care and logistics as well as floristry. At the fair, Mediterranean plants, above all from Spain and Italy, as well as green house plants met with great acclaim. The visitors were enthusiastic about the orchids on the Thai cooperative booth. Highlights in the supporting pro- gramme were the presentations and demonstrations of the florists who used the fair as a platform for their sector to a greater extent. They provided an outstanding impression of the latest trends in floral designs and insights into vari- ous subject and working worlds. The attractive supporting programme was supplemented by lectures about horticul- tural technology. The new venue for IPM DUBAI and WOP DUBAI 2012, taking place on November 19 - 21, will be the Dubai Inter- national Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Otto van Haaster (Van Haaster Nevada BV) and Peter Nederlof (Greneth Plants BV): We have been attending the IPm dubaI show for 5 years already. It is the only well organized show for the floricul-tural industry in the middle-east. clients from all surroun-ding countries are visiting this. We hope that more partici-pants from the netherlands will join us next year because we were the only flower bulb and young plant supplier this year. We were simply too busy those 3 days!

Monika Reimann, Managing Director of REIMANN Spinnerei und Weberei GmbH: We were very satisfied with the quality of the visitors. a large number of trade visitors visited us at the booth and showed great interest in german horticultural products.

Andre Sermann, International Key Account Manager & Export Manager, Soendgen Keramik GmbH: We were very satisfied with the organisation of the fair and with the customer contacts. We were most popular on the first two days and we registered good contacts on the third day of the fair as well.

Thierry Horeau, Export Director, Soparco: We have been globally very satisfied by our first exhibi-tion in dubai. the visitors that we met during the 3 days reached our expectations in terms of quantity as well in quality our contacts were mainly professional of horticul-ture, plants or landscaping.

already for the sixth time IPm dubaI had the great ho-nour of the patronage of h. h. sheikh ahmed bin saeed al maktoum, President of dubai civil aviation authority and chairman of dubai airports company.besides this essential benefit the positive development of the IPm dubaI during the past five years would not have been possible without the continuous support of the mi-nistry of environment and Water, the dubai municipility, the dubai Flower centre as well as dubai airports.

gulf agriculture and landscape magazine as the two re-levant trade magazines of the region were again media partners of IPm dubaI. Furthermore IPm dubaI as well as the sister event WoP dubaI possessed an excellent coverage by national and international media before, during and after the show. this comprises all leading daily newspapers, relevant trade magazines as well as tv sta-tions. a copy of the complete media report is available on request.
