    Section 1 Initial IPCop Configuration

    Firstly run setup on the IPCop console, or via SSH. Select the Networking option

    Then select Network Configuration type

    Set the configuration to Green + Red

    Then from the Drivers and card assignment menu, select OK to change the settings

    Select Probe

    And assign to RED..

    When complete select OK

    Next select Address settings

    Select the RED interface

    And configure as shown

    IMPORTANT : You must start with a Static setting to first configure the modem.After modem configuration is complete, then you must reconfigure for PPPoE or PPTP.

    The initial configuration of IPCop is now complete, so exit the setup program.

    Section 2 Modem CLI Configuration for PPPoE

    The recommended modem configuration for PPPoE is bridged. In this case the modemsimply bridges the Ethernet packets to/from the ADSL line. Once bridging is configured on themodem, then IPCop is configured for PPPoE.

    Using a telnet client on another machine on the green network, telnet to 192.168.1.1.The modem CLI (Command Line Interface) should appear

    At the login prompt, login as admin / admin

    Login: adminPassword: admin

    Login successful

    Next type the following commands to configure the modem

    ip delete interface ipwan

    bridge add interface br0

    bridge attach br0 ethernet

    rfc1483 add transport tr1 a1 8 35 llc bridged **{note the VPI, VCI values vary from country to country. 8, 35 as shown is for Australia. Forother countries refer to Appendix A}

    bridge add interface br1

    bridge attach br1 tr1

    system config save

    Section 3 IPCop configuration for PPPoE

    Now that the modem has been configured, the last step is to configure IPCop for PPPoE.Run setup again from the IPCop console, or via SSH. Select the Networking option

    Next select Address settings

    Select the RED interface

    And configure for PPPoE as shown

    Select OK and exit setup.

    Finally the IPCop dialup must be configured. From the IPCop web interface select NETWORK| DIALUP

    Important settings :(i) Idle timeout = 0 (disabled)(ii) Connect on IPCop restart(iii) Reconnection = Persistant(iv) PPPoE plugin(v) Username is your username assigned by the ISP (normally the same as the email

    address for that account)(vi) Password is your ISP/Connection password(vii) DNS = Automatic

    Once PPPoE is configured, select save then return to the SYSTEM | HOME page and selectdial.
