A  note  before  star6ng:  The  iPad  mini®  does  not  come  with  a  data  plan.  In  order  to  receive  or  send  the  TA  forms  that  are  to  be  filled  out,  you  must  be  within  range  

of  and  connected  to  a  Wi-­‐Fi  signal.

Otterbox®  Protective  Cover  

•  The  OJerbox®  is  to  remain  on  the  device  at  all  6mes.

Otterbox®  Protective  Cover  

•  Remove  the  cover  of  the  OIerbox®  •  To  remove  the  

protec6ve  screen  cover  of  the  OJerbox®,  grasp  one  corner  and  pull  apart  from  the  device.  

•  The  cover  can  also  serve  as  a  stand  for  the  iPad  mini®.

Powering  On  and  Off  •  Turn  on  the  iPad  mini®  

•  Press  and  hold  down  the  On/Off  buJon  un6l  the  white  Apple  icon  appears.  

•  Turn  off  the  iPad  mini®  •  Press  and  hold  down  the  On/Off  buJon  un6l  the  swipe  op6on  appears  and  apply  swipe.  

•  iPad  mini®  in  Sleep  mode  •  iPad  mini®  will  go  to  sleep  aVer  being  idle.  This  can  also  be  ini6ated  by  briefly  holding  down  the  On/Off  buJon.

Powering  On  

•  Allow  the  iPad  mini®  to  load  the  ini6al  screen.  •  If  the  screen  fades  to  black,  simply  press  the  Home  buJon  to  wake  up  the  iPad  mini®.  

•  Tap  the  screen  and  swipe  to  access  the  Homepage.

•  Homepage  •  This  iPad  mini®  has  come  preloaded  with  the  app  you  will  need  to  complete  the  TA  form.

•  BaJery  life  status  is  indicated  in  the  upper  right  hand  corner  of  your  screen.

Connecting  to  Wi-­‐Fi  

•  Tap  the  “Se<ngs”  icon  on  the  Homepage.

Connecting  to  Wi-­‐Fi  

•  Tap  the  “Wi-­‐Fi”  se<ng  in  the  leV-­‐hand  column.

Connecting  to  Wi-­‐Fi  •  Under  “Choose  a  Network”  various  Wi-­‐Fi  networks  will  appear.  

•  Select  the  Wi-­‐Fi  network  that  you  will  use  and  login,  or  accept,  if  necessary.  

•  If  nothing  appears,  that  indicates  that  no  networks  are  available.

Connecting  to  Wi-­‐Fi  •  Once  connected  to  a  Wi-­‐Fi  

network,  that  network’s  name  will  appear  with  a  check  mark  beside  it.  •  Wi-­‐Fi  connec6on  is  also  

indicated  in  the  upper  leV-­‐hand  corner  of  your  status  bar.  

•  Please  note:  You  will  s6ll  be  able  to  fill  out  TA  forms  while  offline  (i.e.,  no  Wi-­‐Fi),  but  Wi-­‐Fi  is  necessary  in  order  to  submit  your  completed  forms  via  email.  

•  Press  the  Home  buJon  to  return  to  the  Homepage.  •  Do  this  any6me  you  wish  to  

return  to  the  Homepage.

Connecting  to  Email  •  You  must  connect  your  email  to  the  iPad  mini®  via  the  mail  app  in  order  to  submit  completed  TA  forms  and  receive  updates.  

•  We  highly  recommend  se<ng  up  a  free  email  account  for  this  project.  

•  Example:  ksternECELC@gmail.com

Email  via  the  Mail  App  •  You  may  add  an  email  account  by  going  to  “Se<ngs”  and  tapping  “Mail,  Contacts,  Calendars”  on  the  leV.  •  Here  you  can  “Add  Account.”  

•  Select  your  email  provider  and  follow  instruc6ons.  •  Example:  For  Google,  you  will  be  prompted  to  enter  your  name,  email  address,  and  your  email  password.

Email  via  the  Mail  App  

•  Once  entered,  tap  “Next.”  •  Ac6vate  (green)  or  

deac6vate  (white)  the  items  you  want  connected  to  this  account.  •  You  will  be  able  to  change  these  se<ngs  in  Se<ngs,  if  you’d  like.  

•  Tap  “Save.”  •  Your  account  will  now  

appear  in  Se<ngs.

Email  via  the  Mail  App  

•  To  check  your  email  from  the  Mail  App  •  From  the  Homepage,  tap  the  “Mail”  icon.  

•  The  email  account  you  ac6vated  should  automa6cally  load.

FileMaker  Go®  •  The  FileMaker  Go®  app  has  

been  downloaded  on  to  the  iPad  mini®.  It  is  located  in  the  center  of  the  boJom  row  on  your  Homepage.    

•  You  will  be  using  this  app  to  document  TA.  

•  You  can  download  this  app  on  to  another  device  (iPad®,  iPhone®,  etc.),  but  please  note  that  data  usage  on  any  device  other  than  the  iPad  mini®  is  not  reimbursable.
