the MAC West Conference on Homecoming. Kickoff is at 2:30 on Cyclones.tv.

Iowa States first Homecoming game was played in 1912 and ISU has hosted a homecoming game every season except one (1918- game was cancelled due to the Spanish Flu epidemic).

The Cyclones are 38-57-6 all-time in homecoming games, including a 3-2 mark in their last five homecoming contests. ISU lost to TCU (21-17) in last years homecoming game.

Iowa State and Toledo are tied in the all-time series at 1-1. Each own victories at home: Iowa State, 45-43 3OT (2006); Toledo, 36-35 (2007).

ISUs first five opponents have a combined 22-3 overall mark, the highest opponent winning percentage (92.0 pct.) in FBS. The Cyclones have faced three ranked teams (Kansas State, 4-1; Baylor, 5-0; Oklahoma State, 4-1). Iowa (4-1) was receiving votes at kickoff and North Dakota State (5-0) is the No. 1-rated team in FCS and three-time defending national champion. The three losses by ISUs opponents: ISU, No. 1 Florida State, No. 2 Auburn. The latest Sagarin ratings lists ISUs schedule the second-toughest in the nation.

Iowa State fell to No. 21 Oklahoma State on Saturday, 37-20. ISU was led by senior TE E.J. Bibbs, who recorded season highs in catches (6) and receiving

yards (69), and snared a career-high two TD catches. Bibbs broke ISUs tight end record for consecutive games with a catch by recording a reception in 17-straight games.

Head coach Paul Rhoads is in his sixth season as the Cyclone leader with a career record of 28-40. Hes led the Cyclones to three bowl games (2009 Insight Bowl, 2011 Pinstripe Bowl, 2012 Liberty Bowl) in his first five seasons. Rhoads has recorded a win over a ranked team in three of the last four seasons and has defeated a league opponent on the road in each of his first five seasons, only the second coach in ISU history to achieve the feat.

Iowa State set an all-time attendance record last season of 55,361 with three sellouts. ISU has sold over 40,000 season tickets for the third-straight season. Over 50,000 fans have attended a game in Jack Trice Stadium for a school-record 22-straight games.

  • iOwA stAte-tOledO quick fActs The Iowa State-Toledo series is tied at 1-1. Iowa State won the first meeting in 2006 in a 45-43 triple overtime thriller in Jack Trice Stadium.

It was the first overtime victory in school history for the Cyclones after losing their five previous extra session contests.

ISUs two-point conversion in the third overtime was the deciding factor in the win. Bret Meyer ran for three TDs and Todd Blythe had a pair of TD catches.

In the last game between the two teams, Toledo won at home, 36-35 in 2007. ISU led 35-24 with 5:25 left in the game, but the Rockets scored two non-offensive TDs in under a two-minute span- 82-yard kickoff return; fumble recovery for a TD to take a 36-35 lead.

ISU still had the chance for the win, but Bret Culbertsons 38-yard FG was blocked with :11 seconds left. J.J. Bass led the Cyclones with 134 yards rushing.

Iowa State running backs coach Lou Ayeni was Toledos running backs coach from 2010-13. ISU is 23-4 all-time vs. MAC schools. Losses were to Western Michigan (1994), Northern Illinois

    (2003), Kent State (2007) and Toledo (2007).

OklAhOmA stAte RecAp Iowa State lost to No. 21 Oklahoma State, 37-20 in Stillwater on Saturday. Iowa State struck first with a pair of 34-yard field goals by Cole Netten to go up 6-0. OSU tied the

game with two field goals to make it 6-6 late in the second quarter.

On the ensuing kickoff, the Cyclones failed to field it, resulting in the Cowboys recovering it at the 11-yard line. ISU appeared to stop Desmond Roland at the goal line as time expired to go into the half tied at 6-6. The on-field call was no TD, but the replay booth overturned the ruling on the field, giving the Cowboys a 13-6 lead at the break.

The Cowboys then returned the opening kickoff of the second half 97 yards for the TD to take control of the game.

Both of Iowa States TDs came from TE E.J. Bibbs, including an incredible one-handed grab for 17 yards to cut the OSU lead to 20-13 in the third quarter.

The Mackey Award nominee recorded season-highs in catches (6) and receiving yards (69) and his two TDs was a career high.

OSU outgained ISU, 400-322. The Cyclone defense arguably put up their best performance in the first half in holding the high octane OSU offense to just six points until the mishandled kickoff.

The Cyclones won the turnover battle, 2-0 with a pair of interceptions from Sam E. Richardson, the first of his career, and Nigel Tribune, the second of his career.

After tallying zero interceptions in its first two games, ISU has recorded four in its last three games. LB Jevohn Miller continues to rack up tackles, leading ISU in tackles in four of five games with a

team-high nine stops. He also recorded his first career sack.

The Cyclones had 3.0 sacks and 6.0 TFL in the game. Placekicker Cole Netten was 2-for-2 on his FGs in the game. Netten is perfect on the season (14-14

PAT, 4-4 FG) and has made seven FGs in a row.

QB Sam Richardson finished the day 17-of-39 for 200 yards. He hit DeVondrick Nealy for a 53-yard pass, the longest play from scrimmage for the Cyclones this season.

He hit Bibbs on his two TD passes, giving him 26 in his career to tie for fifth all-time in school history.

football scene with three bowl bids in the last five years.

The Iowa State fanbase has paid attention. Thanks to the recent success and Rhoads enormous popularity, the Cyclones are shattering all attendance records.

Over 50,000 people have attended a game in Jack Trice Stadium for a school-record 22-straight games.

Thanks to Rhoads, eight of the top-10 most attended games in school history have occurred in the last two seasons, including three sellouts in 2013 (UNI, Iowa, Oklahoma State).

ISUs top-three single-season attendance figures occurred in the last three seasons. ISU broke its season attendance record in 2013 at 55,361. ISU sold out its first two home games (North Dakota State, Kansas State), as the Cyclones have

five sellouts at home in their last nine games.

The 2014 capacity of Jack Trice Stadium is 54,800 because construction in the south end zone.

the cyclONe defeNse Against Iowa, the Cyclones posted its top defensive effort of the season, holding the Hawkeyes to

275 yards of total offense, Iowas lowest output in the series since 2008 and the lowest total the Cyclone defense has allowed since Sept. 15, 2012 (178 yards) vs. Western Illinois.

The ISU defense held Iowa to just 102 yards in the second half. Against OSU, the Cyclones had held the high-octane Cowboy offense to just six first half points until

a goal-line stand on the final play of the half was overturned.

OSU had 400 yards of total offense, their second-lowest total of the season. The Cyclones are currently sixth in the Big 12 in sacks, registering 10 in the first five games. ISU

    is showing significant improvement in the sack category. Here is a look at ISUs sack totals in the Rhoads era: 2014, 10; 2013, 15; 2012, 15; 2011, 17; 2010, 11; 2009, 16.

With 10 sacks through five games, the Cyclones are on pace to have their best sack total in years. ISU has won or tied the turnover battle in the last three games (Iowa, 2-1; Baylor 1-1; Oklahoma State,

2-0). ISU has a +3 turnover differential in its last three games.

ISU has four interceptions in its last three games. DC Wally Burnhams units have forced at least 20+ turnovers in his first five seasons.

OffeNse fiNdiNg Rhythm Like the Cyclone defense, the Cyclone offense has improved in each game this season. Under new OC Mark Mangino, the Cyclones have accumulated 253 yards (North Dakota State), 319

yards (Kansas State), 337 yards (Iowa), 339 yards (Baylor) and 322 yards (Oklahoma State) of total offense in each game.

In the Iowa game, the Cyclones scored on their final two drives (9-plays, 92 yards, TD; 11-plays, 51 yards, FG with 0:02) to post a come-from-behind win on the road.

ISU has two 92-yard TD drives this season (Iowa; Baylor). Against Baylor, all four of its scoring drives were 75 yards or longer. Mangino continues to implement his spread the wealth style of offense. Five different Cyclones

have 10 or more catches on the season. 13 Cyclones have caught a pass this season.

In the red zone, the Cyclones are 11-of-12 (91.7 percent) with nine TDs this season, ranking 20th nationally and third in the Big 12.

Eight of ISUs 14 TDs this season were attributed to scoring drives of 75 yards or longer.

cyclONes gettiNg expeRieNce A total of 13 Cyclones have recorded their first career starts this year: Brett Medders, Mitchell Meyers,

Devlyn Cousin, Alton Meeks, Kane Seeley, Kamari Cotton-Moya, T.J. Mutcherson, Allen Lazard, Jake Campos, P.J. Harris, Trent Taylor, Qujuan Floyd and Drake Ferch.

JARvis west is isus plAymAkeR Senior Jarvis West has proved to be one of ISUs most dangerous offensive threats. West has already solidified himself as one of the best returners in ISU history. His career 25.7

kickoff return average ranks second all-time in school history. He returned a kickoff for a TD last year vs. Texas Tech (95 yards), tying for the fourth-longest KO return in school history. He also had a KO return for a TD called back in the 2011 Pinstripe Bowl.

He is also one of the best punt returners in the nation, averaging 23.6 yards in five punts. He notched his first career punt return for a TD against Kansas State (Sept. 6), rambling 82 yards to paydirt. It was the ninth-longest punt return in school history.

West has two punt returns of over 20 yards this season: 24 vs. North Dakota State; 82 vs. Kansas State.

West had one of the greatest opening periods in ISU history vs. Kansas State when he caught a 17-yard TD pass, returned a punt 82 yards for a TD and threw a 29-yard TD pass in the first half.

West was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, Hornung Award Honor Roll and CFPA Punt Returner of the Week after his performance vs. Kansas State.

TD in school history: Dick Howard, Don Ferguson and Tom Vaughn. Vaughn was the last Cyclone to do it in 1963.

Overall, West has been responsible for a TD in five different combinations in his career: TD rush, TD catch, TD pass, TD punt return, TD kickoff return, the only current player in the nation to claim this.

West, who has been added to the Hornung Award Watch list, is ISUs active leader in receptions (92).

Lazard was inserted into a starting role after the untimely loss to ISUs top returning receiver

Quenton Bundrage, who tore his ACL in the season-opener vs. North Dakota State.

Lazard has 13 catches for a team-high 208 yards receiving, which already ranks ninth all-time among Cyclone rookies.

with 252 yards, one of eight QBs in FBS to lead his team in rushing and passing.

His 267 career completions ranks eighth all-time in school history. After intermission, Richardson is completing 61.9 percent of his passes (57-of-92). Against Iowa, Richardson was 25-of-36 for 255 yards and 2 TDs, including completing 17-of-21

passes in the second half to help ISU overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.

Against Baylor, Richardson ran for a team-season-high 99 yards. His 47-yard TD run is the longest rush of the season for the Cyclones.

Richardson completed a career-best 14-straight passes vs. Kansas State.

A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., Farniok calls the shots at the line scrimmage and his leadership has been instrumental in the success of the Cyclone offense.

Farniok was injured in the second quarter of the North Dakota State game and did not play the rest of the game, as the Cyclone offense sputtered in the second half.

Farniok went 3-0 against intrastate rival in his four years as a Cyclone. He was injured in ISUs loss to Iowa in 2013 and did not play in the game.
