Mitigating risks of IoTWith the ability to send data from nearly any device over the internet comes security risks. Without proper security mechanisms in place, data can be compromised anywhere between leaving the device and reaching the application receiving the data. To minimize risks, security permeates through all aspects of the platform offered by Ayla Networks and Develco Products.

Protecting your dataAyla Networks’ software platform delivers multi-level security capabilities, including authentication, authorization, access control, encryption, over the air patch updates, and end-to-end policy management. Develco Products’ devices are developed to live up to a strict standard of security, when communicating with each other. This means that when a device attempts to join a network, it makes use of installation codes, certificates, and pre-defined keys to authenticate the connection. After the device has been connected to the network, the Squid.link Gateway transports the information across wireless protocols that are all tested to ensure security.

A different key for every gatewayEach Squid.link Gateway from Develco Products is assigned an individual key set, allowing for remote access using SSH/SCP, with an ECDSA key pair required for login. The gateways communicate with the back-end system using AKEP2 security key negotiation. When the key has been negotiated, data privacy is secured with AES-128bit encryption.
