MICHAEL O'BRIEN Junior Woman's Club Launched At Tea Gathering One of the loveliest of recent Woman's Club affairs was the tea given at the clubhouse yes- terday afternoon to compliment Junior Club members. At the tea table, enhanced with pink sweet peas, Mmes. C. B. Mitchell and E. A. Miles poured. The hostess group, headed by Mrs. Dean L. Sears, Junior Club chairman, included Mmes. A. H. Silllgo, Bills P. Owen and M. J. Beale. Mrs. Ralph Ross of Los An- geles, district chairman, as guest speaker, welcomed the newly or- ganized group into the national organization. Mrs. George H. Moore will serve as temporary president for the Juniors and Mrs. Robert B. Trezise, Jr., will be the group's temporary sec- retary. An added feature of the program was the introduction of Mrs. Vida Reed Stone of the American Women's Volunteer Service, who explained the func- tioning of the nationally-organ- ized group. Junior Woman's Club Launched At Tea Gathering

One of the loveliest of recent Woman's Club affairs was the tea given at the clubhouse yes­ terday afternoon to compliment Junior Club members. At the tea table, enhanced with pink sweet peas, Mmes. C. B. Mitchell and E. A. Miles poured. The hostess group, headed by Mrs. Dean L. Sears, Junior Club chairman, included Mmes. A. H. Silllgo, Bills P. Owen and M. J. Beale.

Mrs. Ralph Ross of Los An­ geles, district chairman, as guest speaker, welcomed the newly or­ ganized group into the national organization. Mrs. George H. Moore will serve as temporary president for the Juniors and Mrs. Robert B. Trezise, Jr., will be the group's temporary sec­ retary. An added feature of the program was the introduction of Mrs. Vida Reed Stone of the American Women's Volunteer Service, who explained the func­ tioning of the nationally-organ­ ized group.

At the morning .meeting of the Literature .section held at the library, Mrs. C. B. Mitchell received high score award for the current event test as out­ lined by Time magazine.

"As the Twig is Bent" Is the topic to be discussed by Miss Jessie A. Tritt, guest speaker at the meeting of Torrance Elemen­ tary P. T. A., Tuesday after­ noon, Jan. 27. Miss Tritt, who is superintendent of education for exceptional children of the Los Angeles school system, will, deal with the special problems presented by physically and mentally handicapped students.

Miss Henrietta McAlIster, soprano, of Los Angeles and Jack Hertert, baritone, of Tor­ rance, will be presented in a group of solos and duets. Mrs. J. O. Bishop will report on the defense effort being made by P. . T. A. At this meeting selection of the recipient of a P. T. A. life membership will be made. Room mothers of the third and fourth grades will be hostesses at the teal to be served at the close of the meeting.
