INVITATION TO TENDER Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) invites bids from competent Construction Companies/Contractors in Iraq for the following works: “Camp shelter upgrades for four camps (Darashakran, Kawargosk, Basirma, and Qushtapa)". The work is to be undertaken for around 145 Housing units (subject to increase or decrease). The specifications and technical details for each housing unit are as follows:

Foundation Works

FW 1 Site Preparation : Preparing site for starting implementation, removal of old tent, frames, three layers of blocks, fence

materials, debris, grading, leveling, clearance, layout, agricultural soils and all other things and carting the debris out of

the camp boundaries.

FW 2 Excavation and Compaction: Carry out excavations as necessary (soil and/or stones) for the site and surrounding area.

Expected excavations are between 12cm -20cm in depth.

FW 3 Nylon: Supply and spread layer of 2mm thick Nylon on well compacted soil to be used as the surface for foundation

works.

FW 4 Reinforced Concrete Footing (extending existing foundation): Supply and cast concrete over a layer of thick nylon, for tie

beams 20cm thick and four triangular corners 12 cm thick. Concrete should be class C 1:2:4 mix (21Mpa). Deform steel

bars and place per design. Shuttering should be done using new or clean wood with fair face frame work according to

drawings.

Construction Works

CW 1 Concrete hollow block: Construct shelter walls with concrete hollow block (20X20X40 cm) using ordinary Portland

cement/sand mortar of 1:3 ratio.

CW 2 Roof - Rectangular steel section and sandwich panel : Supply and install roof steel structure (4.8X7.6m) using rectangular

steel section with dimensions 4cm x 6cm and gauge/thickness = 1.5mm, 6m length per piece. Supply and install sandwich

panel fixed to the roof steel structure, 5cm in thickness.

Finishing Works :

FW 1 Cement plastering: Supply Materials and Plastering the external face of walls by using ordinary Portland cement / sand

with 1:3 ratios.

FW 2 Painting: Supply and paint the roof steel structure frame, using silver colored anti-rust paint. Paint must be Turkish made

and should be done in two layers.

FW 3 Steel Door: Supply and install steel doors of 1m width and 2m height dimension. Steel door must be single plate G20,

angle steel 2" and steel pipe 1" with angle section frame with a locking mechanism. Door must be painted with one layer

of antirust and one layer of oil painting

FW 4 Steel Window : Supply & install two steel window of 1.2m width and 1m height dimensions, using angle steel of 4cm wide

section and 4mm in thickness. Windows should be provided with a locking mechanism.

FW 5 Electrical Works: Supply and install electrical materials including 2 single white fluorescent lighting, exterior water proof

lamp, electrical box, 2 power sockets, switch and connection cables. All material should be EU, UAE or Jordanian made.

Valid current license from KRI.

Regulation on Registration, classification and grading of Contractors in Kurdistan

Copy of bank statement of last 1 year. Remark: The bids that do not meet the essential criteria will not be considered for evaluation. The bidders can receive the bidding documents only during office hours from 08:30 am to 15:00 pm - Sunday to Thursday; from the NRC office in Erbil as per the addresses below:

The bids should be submitted within 21 days of this advertisement , before the office closing hours (15:30 pm deadline 27th

March 2016 ) and the envelopes should be clearly marked – “Camp shelter upgrades for four camps (Darashakran, Kawargosk,

Basirma, and Qushtapa)"”. Late bids shall be rejected and no liability will be accepted for loss, late delivery or non-delivery,

whatsoever. Bids shall be opened after 3 days of the last day of closing the bids at NRC Office in Erbil. NRC technical

department will be inviting interested bidders for a briefing session and details of the project on 17th

March 2016 at 11:00

am
