Invitation to Participate Are you a victim of sexual abuse by a person who worked for the Catholic Church --clergy, religious, teachers, lay workers, volunteers? We are seeking your participation in a first-of-its-kind study of survivors of sexual abuse by a person who worked for the Catholic Church . No church officials or church monies are involved. We are striving to get the truth about the scope and effect of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church from the side of the event most affected and least heard from: You. 1) To participate in our online survey, you will need to send an email to [email protected] . You only need to identify yourself as being interested in taking the survey and provide a valid email address. 2) You will then be sent, directly from Project Truth Be Told, an invitation via your email address with a direct link to the survey. An example of the invitation letter appears on the next page so you will recognize it when it arrives in your email. In the real invitation letter the words " Take this survey " will be clickable(hyperlinked to the survey) and when clicked upon will link you to your copy of the survey . ... (NOTE: Please be sure your spam filters will allow this invitation letter to arrive in your IN box. We send out invitations each Friday. If you do not receive your invitation the Friday after you send us your email expressing your interest, please check your JUNK mailbox to see if your spam filters moved our letter into the JUNK box. Contact us if you have not received your invitation letter.) 3) You will need to click on the survey link as soon as you are able to begin and complete the survey. You don't have to complete the survey in one sitting but it is preferable if you can. Expect to spend 20 to 40 minutes answering all the questions. Our data collection phase ends at the end of this year, 2012. If you want your information to be counted, please complete the survey as soon as possible.
