Pray about your offering for the next year. Pray about your response to the letter from the Stewardship Team which will ask you to consider increasing your offering for the coming year. Be ready to complete your statement of intent and place it in the offering on Joy Ahead Saturday and Sunday, November 2nd and 3rd, or you can mail your response directly to the church office. Together as we reach out with the Gospel to one another and to our greater community, the Lord will bring blessings to you, to Joy Lutheran Church and to the world. Thank you for being a part of this amazing congregation as we proudly proclaim, “There is JOY AHEAD!!” “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead.” 1 Peter 1:6, NLT “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead.” 1 Peter 1:6, NLT Joy Ahead. Those two words speak to a promise. As a congregation, we will soon be celebrating 50 years of mission and ministry. When our predecessors first organized this church, they had a dream of who they could become and how God would be present working in and through the people of Joy. So much of their vision has become reality. Through their commitment and the moving of the Holy Spirit, we have become a community that not only is present in Parker Colorado, but actually lives up to our name, Joy. There is a presence of excitement and love pulsing throughout our church. Now we who have been entrusted with this mission have the same opportunity. We can set our vision on the future of our church, who we can be and how we can make God known. We have so many members and friends of our church who are renewed in their commitment to a vision for our future mission. Currently, we have specific ministry initiatives that will help us to continue to move into the future. We have always had a strong youth and family ministry at Joy. We would like to continue this tradition by calling a second pastor who will be responsible for oversight of the ministry to our children, youth, and young adults. This is an area of great potential growth for us. We have a large number of children who participate in worship, attend our camps, and engage in Christian education. They are a part of community. This isn’t just about preparing them for their future faith life or ensuring the future of the church. They are here now. They are part of our community and will benefit greatly from additional attention, guidance, and love. But we also have many adults who hunger to grow in their relationship with Christ. Part of vision for the future includes a greater pastoral presence in adult education and new adult ministry offerings. We are called to grow as followers and disciples of Jesus Christ. The more we study together and spend time together, the greater we grow in our love for Jesus and for each other. We also have the opportunity to grow in the area of outreach ministry to the community and the world around us. The world has so many needs and Christ has clearly called us to care for others. We want to be intentional about fulfilling this part of our mission. There are several current ministries we are committed to continuing to support, but there may be new wonderful opportunities that God calls us to consider. We need to continue to be open and ready to respond with God’s grace and our resources. Our ministry also takes place here in our church building. We have to be good caretakers of this tremendous facility God has given us. Some of our future will entail caring for this place in order to be a blessing to others. Our world needs the light and love of Christ. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can be one of those places where Christ is revealed. We can make connections with others. We can show God’s love through our actions. We can be witnesses to what God is doing in our lives. And ultimately, we can remember and confess, through our words and deeds, that our God is good and has made amazing promises to care for us, prosper us, and love us. We are called to be a people who celebrate and loudly proclaim, “there is Joy Ahead.” JOY AHEAD 2020 STEWARDSHIP APPEAL INTRODUCTION

Thank you for being a part of this amazing congregation as we proudly proclaim, “There is JOY AHEAD!!”

Joy Ahead.

We are called to be a people who celebrate and loudly proclaim, “there is Joy Ahead.”

Joyfully ahead in 2020 we will strengthen our congregational ministries and education, be a beacon of hope through outreach to our community and world, and ensure another 50 years in Parker Colorado to be a place to help others grow to become a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to increase giving by $65,000 or more in new offerings throughout the year. Here are how these new offerings will be invested:

EDUCATION AND FELLOWSHIP $7,500

v Strengthen our youth ministries from Sunday School to Senior High to ensure that our amazing young people know the Lord and are equipped to live their lives in Christ.

v Develop a youth focused worship service on Sunday evenings open to the entire congregation.

v Enhance and develop small groups so all people of Joy have a sense of community and the Joy Ahead.

v Provide pastoral lead adult education and new adult ministry offerings (young adult, young families, singles and seniors)

OUTREACH MINISTRIES $7,500

v Make stronger our commitment to outreach ministries to include Holy Hammers, Winter Shelter Network and our new partnership with Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

ENHANCING ONGOING MINISTRY$50,000

v Provide appropriate support for the overall operation of the congregation including utilities, committees, supplies, staffing, mission support, worship and the newly called pastor.

LOOK OVER THE CHART. ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS:

v How does my giving level compare with other ways I use my money?

v How adequately does my giving reflect my gratitude to God for all the blessings I receive?

v Where would I be on the chart if I doubled my giving? And can I consider doing that?

v How much more could I give if I really wanted to?
