Dear Alumna/Alumnus,

Looking to reconnect with old friends and former faculty from your graduate school days? Here’s one way: Join us for the Department of Counseling’s “Celebration Banquet,” an evening to showcase and highlight recent and past successes of alumni, students, and the Department. This business-formal event will be held in the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on Friday, April 20, 2012, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and promises to be a fun-filled evening.

Faculty from the 1970’s to today will be invited to attend. We will also be honoring alumni for their dedication to the counseling profession. The Department will recognize the 2012 recipient(s) of the George L. Spinelli Memorial Scholarship, a tribute to Dr. Spinelli’s long-standing contribution to the Department, and the Janet A. Fontaine Outstanding Student Award. We will also be presenting our inaugural “Heroes in Helping” award to area youth for their contributions. This award is co-sponsored by the Counselor Education Student Association (Indiana campus); the Department of Counseling; and the Center for Counselor Training and Services. Finally, a legend in the Counseling profession, Dr. John Krumboltz of Stanford University, will also be in attendance as a guest of honor of the Department and will be receiving an honorary award from the Department.

Cost of the dinner is $30 per person, and an rsvp card is adjacent to this invitation. (Checks can be made payable to “The Foundation for IUP.” Please respond by Tuesday, April 10.)
